Ole Miss doesn’t have the stroke to sustain an offer of $15-$18MM for 3 years

There is a lot of money flowing in to Ole Miss right now. Their biggest hindrance is the state law that doesn’t allow more than a 4 year contract.

All 3 schools will probably offer Kiffin all he wants. It might just come down to what school and town he prefers. I would have to choose BR over little ole Oxford and Gainesville.

Hes got great connections with Florida, he's got great connections with LSU, and hes got a stable environment at Ole Miss. I really don't know what it will come down to. I will say, though, I have been following the Ole Miss boards for a long, long time, and they are most concerned about Florida, as you can see in the OP.

David Nutt and Dickie Scruggs are worth at or near $1B.

IMO, I think he stays. It just doesn’t make sense timing wise. We’ll see.

LSU and Florida cannot realistically wait until January to hire someone.

It only goes into January if Ole Miss makes playoffs AND wins 1st round game. Otherwise it will be over before Christmas if he is the guy.

They can’t wait that long either. Whether it’s announced or not they need a signed contract by Thanksgiving. If not, LSU and Florida will have to move on.

If all 3 think they have Lane going into Christmas, then two of them are going to be royally fricked.

Kiffin is currently on a 6 year contract. 4 with the university and 2 with the athletic association. It’s not even a hindrance.

Wanted to add there appears to be a rumor on several Ole Miss boards and specifically the on3 one that there was some kind of meeting between Florida and Sexton/Lane Last week:

SpiritBen (Ole Miss Mod On3)

"It's a legitimate question! To answer directly: No, I don't think Keith even knows. You're correct; no one does. What's more interesting to me is not whether or not he stays or goes; that is impossible to predict. Instead, I would like to know if Kiffin/his representation/on a Zoom call/whatever met with Florida last week, as has been rumored. That would actually tell us something. Lane Kiffin is not going to directly tell anyone anything - and I mean ANYBODY. He doesn't have to, and I'm not sure he even knows what he wants right now anyway."

I have seen this posted elsewhere too

In reality it is though. He addressed it Monday. Ole Miss is a “small market” team. UF and LSU are not.

Do all the Ole Miss fans on here think that Kiffin is gonna be their coach next year at like 12 mil/year? Pure delusion

Don’t want Drink or Brohm, would rather go coordinator route if those are the next guys up.

I think the bottom line here is that there really is a sense of "I don't know".

LSU seems confident
Florida seems confident
Ole Miss seems confident.

Despite what CheesesteakTiger tells you, I don't think anyone knows what Kiffin is going to do, and I don't believe Kiffin knows either.
