I would have fired his arse too, but he did take yall to back to back cotton bowls

Orgeron should have never been hired

Cutcliffe was super quick

All of the shitty coaching decisions really fall back on Boone

Bigger salary

after bonuses- Mullen makes more than Nutt this year...so thats wrong

Better recruiting classes

not in the 1990's you didnt...this only starting taking place with the demise of Jackie and the hiring of Crooms- our recruiting will be better than Mississippi's the next couple of years- guaranteed...so wrong again

quote:

Better national exposure.

State and Mullen are all over ESPN- they even did a special on us at practice- I missed the one they did with Mississippi...

wrong aGAIN

I would say they are equal jobs, with Ole Miss a lesser job over the last ten years because of their outrageous expectation to go along with their propensity to fire coaches quickly. This is of course outside of Orgeron who was in fact a moron.

I hate Ole Miss as much as the next guy...and Ole Miss will never be a powerhouse. But, relative to Miss St? I don't think you have an accurate perception of where Miss St. falls.

I'm trying to think of a single advantage Miss St. has over Ole Miss.

Money? No.
Recruiting Base? No.
Facilities? Not even close.

What am I missing here? Is it possible you are confusing the strength of the current team with the potential of the program?

The idea that Ole Miss fans "expect" this is bullshite. Seriously, it's totally made up.

We EXPECT to not lose blowout games to Vanderbilt and Kentucky. We EXPECT to beat Louisiana fricking Tech.

We would like to be a powerhouse, but nobody expects it.

Oh hey Houston. I didn't know you posted here.

That's not relevant nor does it answer the question of "does Ole Miss fire coaches too quickly".

In the eyes of Coonass, sure.

Bonuses != salary

I'm wrong because of your prediction of the future? Yeah, that makes sense.

What happened in the 1990's is hardly relevant to the desireability of our coaching job today. Get that weak shite out of here fatass.

At this very moment, yes. But aggregate over the past so many years, nope. Not even close.

I don't spew dirrahea all over the board and then pretend like what I said never happened because I was "deceived". Only your disciple Al buys your horseshite pal. Don't expect the rest of us to take seriously.

Don't tell Fatass that! He'll call you crazy!

You know what's hilarious about these threads? It's that, with only a few exceptions, it's ONLY the State fans who stick up for State in the "whose program/job is better" argument. If other SEC fans who hate our guts (as moneyg says he does) are conceding the point that we're the better job/program, then you all should just shut the frick up. It's not nearly as debatable as y'all want it to be.

Is Mississippi State better off now than it was 20, 10, or even 5 years ago. Of course. Is Mississippi State doing great things to improve the program? Absolutely. That doesn't at all mean that your job is one that should be considered "better" than ours or, really, anybody's in the SEC aside from Vanderbilt and maybe Kentucky.

recruiting? only because of Crooms and Mullen rebuilding...3 of their last 5 season they have had two 0-8's and a 1-7- their damn recruiting is a little over-rated

facilities? marginal at best. Seems like someone hasnt been to Starkville in awhile and actually looked around.

OK - so who sucks less has been vetted pretty exhaustively on here and no one wins - ever. So, back to the real issue. Will y'all be happy with Fedora when they announce tomorrow?

All I know is that when we have been at our lowest point- we hired a 2 time national championship winning coordinator- and he was our 2nd offer. We had a coach a week after we started the search

You guys cant get anybody to accept that shitty job. That tells me all I need to know.

But dont let facts like that stand in your way of pushing your 40 year old myths

This argument is so fricking retarded. It's a wash. Neither is a top job.

Brad Pitt was great in Merlinsball

Stop pretending to know about our coaching search. It's obvious to anyone paying attention that you don't know jack shite.

Yeah, Greg Byrne is a great AD. I think his hire of Rich Rod at 'Zona is a great one. I fully believe that, even if you're at a low point, good leadership can get you out of it.

Alabama and Arkansas' searches dragged on and on and on until they hired Saban and Petrino respectively. I'm okay with our guys being deliberate, assuming that they make the right choice.

Just like you don't let security guards get in your way of the Barnhill's you got kicked out of?

It was corny, but it was fun. Merlins 12 tried too hard.

Everyone agrees that Merlins 11 is by far the best though, right?

Clearly.

Mr. & Mrs. Merlins wasn't too bad either.
