Freeman's agent has multiple offers on the table right now. My bet is that he takes the Duke HC position but one thing is clear the fact the Notre Dame AD did not name him the interim HC means Freeman is leaving South Bend.

One thing is clear: my man Marcus Freeman has options in every direction

-Notre Dame DC
-Notre Dame HC
-possibly Cincy HC
-LSU DC
-OhioSt DC

Duke Head Coach as they have reached out to his agent and there is interest there. I'm hearing this is the most likely destination for him.

Go lock down Glen Schumann or Doug Belk. Young, great DCs, and great recruiters

I would take this with a grain of salt. Unless things have changed in the past couple of hours ND insiders are very convinced that they're just going to promote him by the end of the week. I also don't see him taking a DC gig over Duke if it comes to that.

One of brian kelly's first calls was to try and get osu's running backs coach tony alford back.

Think he was at notre dame from 2014-2018.

He is staying at ohio state it seems. Would've been a nice hire.

OSU will still be shite on defense until they recruit some decent LBs.

There are other DCs out there.

^^^this. All this talk about Elko and Freeman is silly. They’ll be taking HC jobs before making a lateral move to another top school. We should be focusing on less established guys. Doug Belk and Glenn Schumann for example.

UGA sources have said Schumann would probably leave to be a DC for a top program this off-season (to prove himself away from Kirby/Lanning). Would be a home run in my opinion.

Psst! Hey, hey! Shhh ... just wanted to let you know that the guy we wanted was pulled directly from that circle jerk and coached at Cincy and then Notre Dame before here. Keep that under your hat though. Shhh!

At this point, I have no expectation Freeman will be at LSU. He potentially has several other really good options.

It’s fine. He’s an excellent coach but he’s not the lynchpin of our program.
