Outside of the Freeze paying for escorts years Ole Miss and Arkansas recruit basically the same. Last year Ole Miss finished exactly one spot ahead of Arkansas.

Not sure why people act like it’s so much easier there when most of the lower half of the SEC outside of Mizzou, Kentucky and Vandy recruits all along the same lines.

My only concern with Kiffin would be that I feel like if he turns us around in 2-3 years then he would bail on us to go to a top tier P5 school given the opportunity.

I guess good thing would be that for him to do that then that means we had a few good years. Then we would have to find someone new and with Arch coming right around the corner who wouldn’t want to be at OM. lol

and us having a HS coach who... Well... Couldn't coach.

We can all play this game.

Lets just both get great coaches and get this over with, Deal?

Kiffin would be a fool to go to Arkansas or OM. Dead ends, both of them.

He can do better than that.

Can he? What Big 6 or blue blood school is giving him a call soon? FSU is his best chance to do better but if they go in a different direction then Arky/Ole Miss are the types of places he should be glad to get.

Well according to many OM fans it’s way too early to be concerning ourselves with a potential once in a decade QB anyways, so no worries

I find it hilarious that people are saying “he’s just a freshman!!” in an era where top talent is being identified in middle school.

That kid is going to ball hard.

Other rankings not under Freeze in the last ten years:
32
31
48
20
24
17

Arkansas rankings the same years:
49
27
27
21
41
20

Arkansas average: 31
Ole Miss average: 29

You’re higher but not by much. I think a good recruiter can bring in solid talent to both places.

People fail to realize that Freeze could've gotten away with everything and the train would still be rolling to this very day had he been capable of just shutting the frick up. You can recruit at a high level to Ole Miss. At least compared to the other middling SEC schools

If you look at it, Arkansas has a slight advantage over Ole Miss in regards to facilities/money, but who would want to go try to get them out of that mess? That program is in shambles and essentially dead at this point. There's a thread on Hogville at the moment where the majority of the fanbase is in agreement that 3-9 would be a step in the right direction for whoever their new guy is in 2020. At least Ole Miss has some pieces. We'll see what happens

You could look at it as a non-pressure situation too. Arkansas is a sleeping semi-giant.

Hate to break it to you, but any coach that turns the Rebs into a really good team in 3-4 years will likely bolt for a bigger job.

Has only happened one time in Ole Miss's history. That was Tubberville

In recent history, Tubberville was the only one people were really trying to steal. Ole Miss has fired everyone else.

Freeze was going to leave eventually for the right gig probably, but he couldn't keep his wiener in his pants. But he was the best chance for a top coach to stick around because of his ties to the area, etc.

FTR, I think you know this, but I'm an Ole Miss alum and root for the Rebs when they aren't playing LSU. The fan base has delusions of grandeur, most likely because of their historical significance in the college football landscape.

They need to get someone like Matt Luke, who loves Ole Miss, but can actually coach football. That kind of guy won't ever leave for a better job.

Yeah and it wouldn't be a bad thing, just find the next guy.

Freeze was basically packed for Florida before they hired McElwain.

I’m sure every coach out there is clamoring to be involved in the Egg Bowl rivalry with Joe Moorhead and work for an AD no one has heard of.

While I was there actually and was the worst head coach I've ever seen in the SEC in person before Chad Morris this year.
