Brohm would be a solid hire. I don't understand the Joe Brady thing. He's a great offensive mind, but It's well known that he doesn't like recruiting. He wants to be an NFL coach and he'll likely get that shot in the next few months.

Problem with this is LSU has been a mid-tier SEC program the past decade. They had 1 amazing season. LSU's biggest bane is they can't sustain success despite having amazing resources available to do it. The potential is there but the only one who truly unlocked it was Saban and had he stayed, would've been no debate on the dynasty past few decades.

While true on an annual basis, the facts are LSU has the second-most titles in the modern/TV era. I get what you’re saying though, it’s been a roller coaster, but the end result is the #2 championship program over 2 decades…. Depends on your definition of “sustained”
PennSt and Oregon have had annually sustained success. But no one wants to be them. Georgia/Bama is what everyone wants to replicate, and LSU is ahead of Georgia in that regard.
Personally I think LSU is a lot cooler and more unique in that we’ve done it a BUNCH of different ways and different styles… and more importantly in the context of a coaching search: with a bunch of different people, which is very hard to do and speaks to the program IMO. For whatever reasons, LSU seems to be a lot more “plug and play” than most places

Why would we hire another ND coach?
For one thing, it’d be funny as hell.

For one, he’s the complete opposite of BK.

Almost want Marcus Freeman just to hear the wailing and screaming from ND fans

Pete is dialed in
He really must have connections. Pete Nakos is actually the one who broke the Kelly firing nationally at 6:15pm. Official word didn't hit tigerdroppings until 7pm.
Maybe this is an accurate hot board from what Pete is hearing.

If LSU hires Freeman, I'm out

To keep the ND pipeline open. It's a been a great training ground for coaches who want to move up to the next level.

Hes also reported some complete bullshite this year so who knows. His sources with LSU might be better than his sources with Tennessee.

LSU hasn't finished in the top 10 consistently, but with UF and Auburn completely falling off, in the last 10 years in the SEC, only Bama, UGA and LSU have won national titles. Tennessee has improved a lot and had a few top 10 finishes, but no recent NC success and that is what people really look when judging a program. LSU is also 7-2 in bowls in the last 10 years, so they still have had consistent success.
If you"re one of the top 3-4 programs in the SEC over a period of time, then you're likely one of the top jobs in America considering what it takes to compete and be successful in the SEC.

I think he would be a phenomenal hire
But he’s doing pretty well at Notre Dame. I think he loves it there. I have no earthly idea why LSU fans think they can hire away another Notre Dame coach
That’s not happening
It was interesting to listen to T Bob talk about this possibility
He basically said that Freeman is too good of a guy to coach LSU. We need somebody who is rough around the edges
That’s T Bob not me

I’d be happy with all but joe Brady. He doesn’t want to build a college program. He’s an nfl guy

Freeman wouldn't even come here to be DC. Do you think he'd come here now? I'd be down just for the continued ND melt.

He was taking the LSU DC job before ND offered him the HC position. Completely different circumstances than you think

Sumrall, Key, Lea, Brohm, maybe Drink would each bring something good to LSU. Don’t want big name baggage.
