Ed Orgeron doesn't get the permanent HC job, feels he was screwed, gets pissed off, and quits.

The next day the University of Alabama, which seems to have an unlimited supply of money, hires him as a special recruiting assistant to Nick Saban.

Not good, but definitely not worse case.

If we make a good hire, we'll be fine.

The dline coach is not the most important person in staff. Not even top 3. And We recruited just fine before O came along.

Sounds like a pretty decent scenario to me

Yeah I agree with Sport above...

Love O, want him to stay, but we were fine before him and will be fine after him (as a program and in recruiting)

I guess they'll rise in the recruiting rankings from 1... to 0?

Yeah really lol. They can only take so many guys each year. Got to beat them with what we can get, which is still some damn good football players.

Nevertheless, I can't see O going to Bama. I honestly think he'll get a HC at a smaller program, or stay right where he is.

That's what i am hoping for too. I really hope he doesn't get screwed by Alleva in all this. I hope if another HC job is not available for him, Alleva makes sure whoever the new HC is keeps him on. I know you can't force that to happen, but damn i hope the new HC would realize how dumb it would be to fire him.

2. Herman goes to Texas
3. Jimbo says no thanks

Honestly, Bama can't get better at recruiting. It's physically impossible. Hiring O would be a waste of cash for them.

If it were only to get him away from a rival team, it would absolutely not be a waste of cash to snatch him up. And Saban would in a heartbeat.

That is what you wish. Coach O has no desire to go anywhere unless it is a HC job at a top program.

To be honest, i Wouldn't want a coach that's stupid enough to not keep an Elite recruiter from this state on his staff.

This is a very likely scenario.

That would be terrible because Bama would now become a good football team.

this

also, the only way i think he will be truly pissed is if he goes 6-1 and wins a bowl game and doesnt get the job.

if he goes 3-3 or 4-3 he will know thats unacceptable.

This is worst case.

I would prefer going after Fleck guy if this shook down in that order

Worse things could happen. Like say, not landing Jimbo or Herman

And this would change what exactly?
