I've been here way too long. lol

You'll know it when I mean it!

But, no...no sarcasm from me in this thread. Besides, I think I just got josh liking me again, so I don't want to ruin it!

I don't think they're trying to "dictate", simply an ask to LSU/Nielsen, in turn the Saints would make it easier for Nielsen to become DC.

If LSU/Nielsen were not willing to agree with the Saints ask, then it sounds as if the Saints feel they can make this much more difficult than it needs to be.

Have we even figured out if anything the OP stated is true or is it just opinion?

Seems everyone is running with it as fact and I’ve yet to see it repeated anywhere but here

He’s a fickle man. The relation will sour again soon enough. Stop fighting it.

Oh, no clue!

I just like running through scenarios.

It's fun. But, yeah, we could all be 1,000 miles off.

The language the Saints are asking for is to prevent Nielsen from coming back to the nfl for a year or two. They don't want him returning to a conference foe (Brady to the Panthers) after next year. Very reasonable in my opinion.

Sounds like a lot of bullshite to me.

Tell us, where you are getting this info from.

In the regular season.

Unfortunately, 0-1 against the division in post season.

This can vary wildly and the salaries are kept close to the vest, but I’d guess the median is around 550k

It’s being reported that his current contract could potentially bar him from taking the LSU job. So, if the OP comment is true, the Saints might have a couple of strong cards to play, between this and the money repayment, if they actually do want to include that restriction of moving to the NFL (NFC South?) quickly.

terms of a contract being drawn up between LSU and Nielsen? Or that the Saints are trying to negotiate a document with Nielsen severing their relationship. And how does the fact that going to another NFL team for a promotion is generally ok play into the scenario?
Sounds like they want him to sign a kid of "non-compete" agreement.
