I don't believe any of that. Saban is "pushing" to hire Freeze, no way. There's no one that he would have to ask. Plus the idea that people in the program are "pushing against" is crazy. Who are these people that have authority over Saban within the Bama program?

This is my take. The SEC can't do shite if there isn't any legal actions they can take. You can't block a hire based on assumed public perception.
I would have hired him in a second at LSU. I hope he gets hired at Alabama just to spite coach BLOW.

Why does the SEC seem to supersede the NCAA? They seem to be butting their nose into everything from player eligibility to coaches, etc...shouldn’t these be NCAA decisions?

Exactly. The people that want to be “right” and that means LSU struggles has gotten to be absurd. I’ve said it countless times and I’ll say it again-I was against the O hire from the beginning. Now I hope and pray that I am dead wrong and LSU enjoys much success under O. Also I won’t be sitting back and questioning every single decision he makes and declaring that the end is near! Give them a chance to establish something and build on it. Plenty of UGA fans wanted Kirby Smart out after he went 8-5 last year.
