Let's hope not. 2, 3, 4, losses per season while playing an inferior schedule, for the most part. SEC would eat him alive.

He is a part of a large organization that donates to ND, Im sure he is just repeating what he is hearing.
Stop altering bro.

Why are you even here with this bs?

Maybe we can get Southern and Grambling on the schedule too?
Why do you say that? And we played Grambling in 2023.

one friend is a business partner of mine that went to ND and is a booster. He swears Freeman is gone at end of season

We have a better chance at pulling Saban out of retirement than getting Freeman down here. He has no reason to want to leave where he is. He's getting all the support and players he needs.

It was also interesting to hear how much more people in the athletic department liked him over Kelly and how much the culture changed.
Had more to do with ND getting their panties in a wad on their coach getting poached and finally ponying up the resources Kelly had been asking for.
ND is and has always been ND’s issue. Their arrogance across the board (admin, fans, etc) is the biggest issue.
People love to ignore that when claiming Freeman did better than Kelly. It helped that he was given more to work with.

I would love to have Markus Freeman. I think he would be outstanding. He players coach.
Strong family, which I think is important
He knows his defense
He has proven that he can recruit

DO NOT WANT. He was gifted a job with an easy schedule and all pomp and circumstance. Haven't we learned that coaching at ND is not challenging?

I wonder why that is?
What’s interesting to note it is Josh Pate has said repeatedly that he would make Markus Freeman the first phone call for LSU‘s next coach
He said, of course you got a call saving FIRST and then after he says no it’s Marcus Freeman
I just found that interesting
I just think he’s an impressive guy. That’s what I like about him.
He’s done much better than I thought he would taking over
Seems to have taken Notre Dame to new heights
They had a tough loss against A&M, but we found out how good they are. Didn’t we LSU fans?
I’d be very excited about Freeman. Let’s roll.

quote:i asked the same thing. According to him he said he thought It was because of Verge being a close friend of Freeman's, that Verge trusted his son over there etc. Also something(then friend suspected if he left) about the environment being very restrictive where as its been established(maybe by someone here) that LSU is much less restrictive. I'd have to guess the amount of money he could make here would be generational for him also.
Did he give a reason why he'd want to make a move? He seemed pretty content there to me.

I do know that Verge and Marcus are pretty close.

Can someone explain to me why Freeman would leave ND for another college job? He made the championship last year...and is on the verge of another one. He makes $7.4 million per year and will probably get a bump this year if he makes the playoff again.
I think any talk about Freeman is coming from his agent to get his client a raise.
For the record, he would be a fantastic hire for LSU...
