True. Leaks killed the Miles to Michigan deal, and miles firing/hiring of Jimbo, and the Tom herman deals.

Under Woodward, nobody was expecting BK.

Literally no one predicted the Kelly hire but everyone thought it was Riley. That wasn’t by accident.

There were one or two people towards the end that were saying kelly is the big whale that's a done deal.

It was literally 4 out of about 120 that predicted Kelly here

But it wasn't leaks on the LSU end. The Lloyd Carr camp planted the story with Herbstreit via Desmond Howard and timed it for the morning of the SECCG so that Les would have to refute the story. The animosity was somehow related to Gary Moeller's infamous drunken meltdown. The most reasonable explanation I've heard is that Les told his wife about Moeller's girlfriend and his wife, in turn, told Moeller's wife. Which apparently earned the lifelong enmity of Lloyd Carr. I don't know that that's how it went but it fits what we do know.

No way that the 2 BOS that were on the stage the other day with Verge are capable of pulling anything meaningful off.

I personally know and trust Scott Ballard. Dude can run with the best entrepreneurs and he loves LSU to his core. If he truly has a blank check, he is going to bring someone good home.

Keep in mind with changeovers like this, false info will get released to find the leaks

This ^^^. Which is why until its 100% I don't believe anything. There are too many false leaks/reports. Until its finalized its basically operate as everything is a possibility but believe nothing.

And then after hiring Kelly, Woodward said they didn't even understand all the Riley talk because he wasn't even considered. What exactly was your guy doing telling you all that?

You ever.thought SW might have just lied about that part.

Has to be Whittingham

I like Whittingham, but if BK wasn’t the “right fit”, we’re definitely not hiring a Mormon who has never coached outside of the state of Utah

So did mine. She was right on Johnson and Mulkey a week before each was hired.
BUT..had Lincoln Riley all but on the platform thanking Scott for the opportunity to at LSU...then we heard it was Kelly!

Now she is saying the ball is in KIffins court. No word on #2 choice but it ain't Freeman!

I think this wolfcocacola guy is saying that it is Saban. He hasn't outright said it's not Saban but he did say that we would be poaching him right from under his other school's nose. I guess technically that could be Alabama since he is still on the payroll in some capacity.

I agree with your summary here. And I also agree that someone trying to state as fact that "Kiffin has zero reasons to leave Ole Miss for LSU" is talking over their heads. Talking outside their league. LSU has for a long long time been a much bigger and more successful more resourceful football program than Ole Miss. And we have some very rich boosters who are willing to stockpile NIL $, not for just one or two off years in hopes that they can get over the hump like Ole Miss is doing. But do it on the regular. Kiffin knows this.

I don’t see Saban as HC, but maybe the AD or even an GM of football operations for recruiting and talent scouting. Let him come back to guide us forward and repair the emotional damage for leaving us for Miami. He’s always said that was his biggest mistake.

I really hope it's one of the two just because so many don't believe it's possible.

I have heard time and time again how LSU is poor from LSU fans including a bald man that's pretty famous only to see LSU can raise some serious money when needed. I've also seen non bias sites like on3 or something consistently report how LSU has more money than perceived.

It is not about money. LSU can pay. But Kiffin can get money anywhere. There is no upside for him to come here. LSU no longer has the inherent recruiting edge it once had. NIL flattens regional gaps.

As for “prestige,” it is overstated. LSU has one 10-win regular season in 13 years, that was our "Chizik championship". Ole Miss is about to have two 10-win regular seasons in three years. Why would he leave that? They can match our money, and they are not tens of millions in the hole. Before you say we have more, I don't count exhibition bowl games chock full of opt outs and apathy, and neither should anyone else.

LSU is not Bama or Ohio State. It is not an easy place to win. And whether people like BK or not, it looks bad when the winningest coach in college football cannot win here, at a program LSU fans claim “any coach can win at.” Three coaches, one 10-win regular season in 13 years, including two Hall of Fame level coaches.

That is why I would be stunned if Kiffin came here. And Saban is pure fantasy. They would be foolish to come to LSU as there is no upside for them in fact there's a LOT of downside.

Naw, they won the SECCG and back door’d into the BCSNCG and won.

If he lost either he was gone to his Alma Mater.
