SW hasn’t given up on him……

Outside of saban, Kirby and aranda I can’t think of any other elite defensive minds off the top of my head.

As soon as I saw this name, I didn’t even give the body of this book he wrote any time.

Map out the 7yrs of the CFB playoff, all 28 teams & their coaches, and it’s easy to pinpoint what the majority of them all share.
HCs with offensive minded backgrounds, and excellent QB play .
Saban is an offensive minded coach?
Dabo was a offensive position coach (not OC before becoming HC) that hit on some great QBs, but they had the #1 D in 2019 and Venables has been a huge part of their success the last few years.
Kirby is currently #1 and is a defensive guru.
OU is/was an offensive juggernaut and gets bounced every year in the CFP.
There is no perfect or exact formula outside of having a top QB. That is the big constant.

You’re going to make me write it out for you, aren’t you

This goes both ways. If you have an offensive minded coach then they need to nail the DC hire all the time.
Meh. Much easier to over come bad defense with a good offense than the other way around in the modern era.

Oh look another Napier fan boy and moronic thread by Lester Earl. I thought you would be gone with your master O.

Aranda failed at this already in just 2 years
That is my point. Why would you trust him? His sample size is small but there are red flags people are choosing to ignore
I shite on aranda for hiring fedora and munoz but it was late in the cycle.
The fact that he has to hit the oc does scare me.
I do think offense dictates.

If Napier bring my 4th choice makes me a fan boy, so be it

Billy Napier is riding the crappy offense good defense train. Problem is he’s an offensive guy.

I'm going to take exception to Aranda being called "an elite defensive mind". He is a good coach but what about his tenure at LSU says "elite". Very good, maybe.
And that's me being Aranda favorable.

There aren’t any elite defenses anymore
Aranda has been about as good as it gets for the past half-decade

What were his offensive ranks last year?
Were they down 2 years in a row or is he just having a down year?
I think napier is more of an overall coach then people realize. He sets the tone of the program.
I don't know if he is some offensive savant but he will run a clean program and have his teams ready to play.
Napier is a good coach.

I’m not disagreeing with your summary of Aranda’s first year but you must remember he was hired near the end of LSU’s championship run. So he had to prep for the playoffs, title game and then immediately afterward get on a plane to Baylor.

I get “it’s Iowa state” but I’m not high on Campbell. He’s been mediocre outside of covid season and was handled by ULL. I get mediocrity is a massive improvement from history but still.
Definitely agree that kiffin should be taken a lot more seriously than he seem to be. Whichever he ends up at (Florida or Miami) he is going to win big at.

No he hasn’t
Previous 5 seasons before him: 20 wins
Last 5 seasons with Campbell: 35 wins
And That’s with a 3-win year 1
You don’t understand how trash Iowa St was

Campbell is a good coach.
Your hate for napier is something else.
