My one concern with Woodward

Is he’s going to be too locked in to “Saban” guys. We should be looking for a coach who is going to develop his own tree, not just a former Saban assistant who is going to come here and do an 85% level impression of him.

Scott is the best AD for coaching hires in the country. Sit back and relax.

Nah, he's getting Riley.
Lincoln Riley to LSU
Luke Fickell to Oklahoma
Jimbo stays in College Station

Look at FSU after him. Now look at Jimbo after 2 full years of recruiting at A&M. Yes. Yes he was.

So jimbo would be a good hire if he hired him here?

Of course he would. Lol. But he isn’t coming.

Sure is what it sounded like Kelley is moving.

Or did he allow O to hire a guy who he didn’t interview to ease his way out?

Guarantee that O didn't hire Pelini.

Like? This is a really easy criticism to make on the surface, but Saban has so many tentacles out by this point that basically anyone who has worked in the southeast can be described as a "Saban guy". There are a few Urban and Dabo guys out there, but it's mostly Saban guys.
Take Mel Tucker as an example. I'm sure most people would say he's a Saban guy, but not really. He's spent 4 years with Saban and 3 years with Kirby Smart. He has done some flavor of coaching for 24 years now. He got his career start by working with Saban at Michigan State, but he's mostly not worked with Saban or anyone directly related to Saban.

I could care less if O did or not, he certainly threw shade and pushed Aranda out and owns the coordinators this season.
I can’t believe we still get the occasional CheeriO defending him here.

So what you're saying is we need a guy who can row the boat in a new direction?

You just perfectly described the coaching definition of coming from a coaching tree, while claiming he’s not from that tree.
Well done, most people aren’t willing to be so blatantly contradictory in their musings.
