Most OVERWHELMING opposition to a hire ever

If it is Ensminger/Sulivan.
He will lose MANY supporters.
Damn this possibility is so frustrating.
It is Les Miles level frutrating
Hoping the sentiments are so pervasive and frequent that someone actually knows about the rant sentiment.
I know many think no, but i hope they do.
This is crushing.
Hope its all just BS and that Gilbert is named today.

The thing that pisses me off is that Coach O made promises and has not delivered.
He said that he learned from his time at Ole Miss that he needs to step back, not be so hands on, and let the position coaches and coordinators do there jobs and not be in the way.
He also promised to hire the best OC in the country, but look who we are stuck with, Steve Ensminger. A tight ends coach that had horrible game plan versus BAMA

I don’t believe there ever was a search, Gilbert was jus smoke we blew up our own asses out of desperation, Briles and Freeze were also all in our heads, O never lobbied for them and failed. Insecure people like Ed O would rather old farts sitting around saying “you can do it!” than have to work to accommodate people better them!

Idk though. Talked to several guys at saints game yesterday and they all seemed pretty indifferent. Didn’t seem opposed to ensminger.

Orgeron can accomplish a robust "search" within a 48 period at the AFCA Conference, this week.
All of the "names" we've heard, and lots we haven't, will be gathered together in the Charlotte convention center, over the next several days.
This isn't necessarily over. Maybe Coach has his backup plan in place, his "b" team, just in case? Every day that passes, particularly within the context of AFCA, presents an opportunity for that homerun hire.
Note that 4 yrs/2.5m puts pros in play for the job, and not just Joe Lombardy.

I think there are many fans, myself included, that will not give O the benefit of the doubt if this happens.
I believe that he would be painting himself in the corner. and I would feel sorry for steve. he stands to lose all of the massive good will he has built up at LSU.
the only way they survive this is to win, win, win. reverting to a miles type offense is not going to cut the mustard.

I'm pretty sure that Briles and Freeze were run up the flag pole and the administration immediately said no, and then Orgeron settled for Ensminger and Sullivan.

and rightfully so. Recent history shows LSU has needed creativity in its offensive philosophy and a guy who is a proven QB developer to get over the slump its been in offensively.
History has proven that Miles lost his job due to failure to address this. Orgeron, by promoting Ensminger/Sullivan, is choosing to follow the SAME EXACT PATH. I guess the man is clinically insane.

That is probably a big part of it, but Orgeron was a control freak at Ole Miss as well. That is kind of his personality.
Control freak can be great if the person is a brilliant program manager like a Saban (or on a smaller scale, Will Wade). However, it’s a disastrous thing in the person is just an insecure buffoon.
