The move is effective immediately. He did some very good things to revive the Minnesota program despite all the health setbacks he suffered.
Best wishes for him and his family in the future.

So can we start the Coaching Changes board now?

Insane number of head coaching jobs open. And more will open as coaches move.
This off-season will be awesome.

I hope the removal of stress will allow him to enjoy more of his life.
I cheered for the Gophers because of him.

He had done a good job at Minnesota, especially considering the health issues he had to deal with. Give us the coaching changes board

Good coach, hope he's able to get some rest and his health improves. Minnesota always had a strong defense under CJK.

Dear, Sweet baby Jeebus, please let Tejas fire Strong and go after Saban again. That was one of the best weeks in internet history.

Best wishes for Jerry Kill. By all accounts, he was well-respected among coaching circles and coached some very disciplined teams. Minnesota is a hard place to win and he took them to three straight bowl games.
Wonder what happens with this program now. On top of a big selling point for them being little to no coaching turnover season-to-season, they still had a world of difficulty beating quality opponents (outside of Nebraska), even under Kill, so this will be a very important hire for the program. Wonder if they'll consider interim coach, Tracy Claeys.

How about someone just start an official coaching changes thread right now on the MSB, with the list of positions open and we can go from there? We can try to get a sticky too

Hell of a lot of respect for him but good for him to take care of his health

He just said at the press conference that he had a return of seizures so he's retiring from coaching.
