It was gut wrenching. The absolute mirror opposite of Spurrier's chicken shite retirement.

That presser was tough to watch. I felt bad for that dude because he really doesn't want to hang it up. Hope he finds something healthy to occupy his time.

I kind of like it when old or sickly coaches retire. Don't need anyone keeling over on the sideline during a game.

I'm actually a fan of the University of Minnesota's campus in Dinkytown. It's not directly in downtown Minneapolis and is really its own separate entity across the Mississippi River. It is, however, very easy to get to downtown by car or across pedestrian bridges.

That being said, the fan base is less-than-stellar and Minnesota has the most commuters in the B1G. People care more about the pro sports teams and getting to their cabin on the weekend.

He left it in much better shape than he inherited it, but still left something to be desired.

For the last two seasons, BTN and Gopher fans have been claiming it was their time to compete in a B1G Championship. Only problem is, they have a world of difficulty beating quality teams not named Nebraska. Give them credit for at least being competitive, though.

TCF Bank Stadium is nice. It seats more than original capacity when built because the Vikings have been playing there and the NFL requires stadiums to be a certain size.

It will be difficult to pony up some cash and bring someone in with recognition. First, Minnesota is currently without an Athletic Director. They've already mentioned that spot will need to be secure before moving onto a coaching search. However long that takes might cause some of the "hotter" names to have already jumped on USC, Miami, SC, and Maryland jobs.

Second, Minnesota might just go ahead and give the job to Tracy Claeys when it is all said and done. That seems to be what many Gophers fans would like, at least.

The facilities are lacking, actually. However, the Board of Regents recently passed a $166 million Athletes Village and includes a football and basketball practice facility. This won't open until 2018, but it will certainly help in terms of recruiting.
