Yep he did a great job pumping life back into that program. Hopefully whomever they hire to replace him will keep them competitive

One of Minnesota's biggest selling-points on the recruiting trail was the lack of turnover among Jerry Kill's coaching staff. It also really helped in the development of players within the program.
I really think, and given the amount/quality of open positions this off-season, Minnesota should consider giving the position to Tracy Claeys. He has some head coaching experience stepping in for Kill multiple times. Additionally, there would remain some sense of continuity within Minnesota's program.

Stinks, but he's making the right decision. He left Minnesota football in a much better place than when he was hired.

One of the most underrated college football coaches I've ever seen. He's the epitome of a program builder, and everywhere he's been he's improved his record every year and built a winner at every level of football. He's up there with Bill Snyder in terms of breathing life into programs through hard work and great coaching.
I read a great article on him a few years ago about how he and his staff have been together for like 20 years and are quite literally family. Hate to see him have to retire like this.

I also just realized that Minnesota is also without an Athletic Director at the moment. Wow. They will definitely be reeling a bit with the Athletic Department and football program under interim leadership.

Minnesota has had bad luck with coaches. Their AD was an idiot and Richard Pitino hasn't proven anything yet and now Kill goes.
They need to hire someone with a background of winning and who can bring some flash to the program. They have a beautiful new stadium that though not as big as the Big House or Tiger Stadium is really awesome and provides a great fan experience.
Lane Kiffen went to high school in Minnesota. I would hire him. No joke. They need someone like him instead of Country Jer.

He's suffered multiple seizures on the sideline, if that's what you're getting at.
He's truly one of the good guys in the game, so this is very disappointing to see, rivalry aside.

Just read that. It's a little disconcerting, especially since the player who wrote it seems very well-spoken and came off as someone legitimately hurt. It read a heck of a lot better than most of the spurned player tweets in longform.

Anyway, sad to hear this about Coach Kill. Best of luck to him. Brewster had really destroyed the program before he took over.
