You should read Leach's book...you'll appreciate how far ahead he is of a lot of the slap dicks in CFB.

Haven't read the book, can you summarize? What do you mean? He's ahead in terms of offensive scheme? In terms of recruiting, delegating power, and managing a program? What about defense?

Not flaming, seriously asking.

Agreed, USCW is a good squad with a helluva of a D-Line. lattimore's injury killed them, but they are a good team top to bottom.

Not Spurrier UF good, but a solid SECE team in the current climate.

Offensive scheme- believes in 'spacing'. Maximizing the space on the field. You'll read about the play they run call (6s?), I think that's it. They do not have a playbook. Everything comes from video. Leach's take on this is that it's way too easy on a player for them to read over a playbook and cram. Having everything on video makes them keep prepared every week and on their toes.

Recruiting-eh, doesn't really go into that.

Managing the program is probably the biggest thing you'll appreciate about him. TT was not only insane to fire him b/c of this on field production, but for what he does off the field. It's run like a well oiled machine.

Just by reading the book you'll pick up on how smart of a guy he is.

This.

Doubt it will happen, but wouldn't it be cool if Leach had WAZZU challenging for the Pac 12 title, forcing ESPN(and Craig James) to cover him?

Not sure if you were being serious or not but Leach has sworn statements from adam james that he made up the closet deal and also affidavids and emails from Tech showing that they plotted to get rid of him right before his contract went through.

Without a doubt, the PAC-12 will have a lot more parity. WSU recruiting will get a big boost and their program gained a lot of fans across the nation.

Inside the Mind of Mike Leach

He's a smart coach.

lsuinthenew

my point was he will do more with less and will recruit probably 4th-6th best in the pac 12, which is a lesser league than the big12. he will be fine.

Surely, you are not asking me if I was serious! Seriously?

ETA - and if he is such an incredible coach, why was TT so anxious and willing to get rid of him? You reckon he just might be a nut case?

No. Because they're cheap, stupid, bastards whose main objective was to screw Leach out of $800,000.00. They will pay, one way or another, as they should. They made a really big mistake and lied about it. Who's the nut case?

They had multiple chancellors and he didnt get along with one or two of them. His new contract was one of the factors in trying to get rid of him. Some tried saying that the person who authorized the contract didnt have the authority to do so. Once the allegations came out that was their way to get rid of him and they pushed it through with the bad press, especially on espn.
Once an investigation was completed there was proof that the whole closet deal was a farce and adam james has admitted it wasnt true.

He might be a different kind of guy but he stands up for whats right, thus the reason he has refused to drop his lawsuits to cler his name. Read his book and itll open your eyes on what happened and not what Craig "the douche" James wants you to think.

They are paying Tuberville $2 million. Doesn't sound cheap to me. Oh well. We'll see (probably will never know the dollar amount though if there is a settlement). But back to Leach at WSU - he'll probably be middle of the pack. His high flying offense won't compete with the talent of the USCs and Oregons and will win a few but lose a bunch 60 - 42.

The question should be asked, will he do better than Mike Price at WSU?

Price vs. Cost analysis re: the whole situation = Texas Tech being stupid and cheap, not to mention wrong. If I were them, I would cut my losses and settle up. It can get worse if they continue to let it ride. I know there's a law in Texas that makes it "legal" for a state institution to get away with not honoring contracts. That's third world mentality. Do you think that makes Tubby comfy?

Do you think Ole Miss could get away with ignoring Nutt's contract?

I don't know, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Tuberville left for a more trustworthy situation.
