No way they don’t make a move. The PR would be awful considering even Miss St did what needed to be done

Nutt should have been fired after the 2005 season.

They should have went after Butch Davis.

Instead they hired a high school coach who had no business being in the SEC who Nutt didn't want on his staff.

Conflict of interest and resentment from the rest of the coaching staff.

This is Arkansas.

Not knowing what to do and making bad decisions is what they do.

Irwin seems to think they could put an ex hc as a coordinator with pittman.

thinks the buyout is a factor also.

That won't make any difference at this point.

100%

Our AD is solid, and if you have every Jim and Joe recognizing the situation (as this thread proves) then he surely does as well

The way Irwin was talking today, the nobody will step up and pay Pittman's buyout.

See, the school can't do it. The Foundation has to pay lost of it because by state law, the school can only pay the coach $500K/yr directly.

Supposedly the Tysons would pay the buyout if they got Gus, but Gus and family don't want to coach at arkansas due to how toxic it could for them when they retire back to Ark. (which they plan to do).

Supposedly, Drinkwitz didn't want the Arkansas job for the same reason. If it goes south, they don't have a home to go back to without it being toxic.

I don't know how accurate any of that is, but that's what Irwin said today.

Arkansas job is a tough gig. So many media making their living off the local school. Local radio spends all day talking about Arkansas. Not to mention all the Twitter, recruiting etc sites. 810 whb in KC probably spends less talking about the chiefs. At least they sprinkle in a mix of other content. Would be tough on anyone’s family when you can’t escape the scrutiny.

All jobs to an certain extent are tough.

Arkansas just makes it harder for themselves.

Agreed. I think the fandom is a blessing and a curse. I know Pittman is well compensated, but it’s hard to watch him with the media. I believe he felt they were his friends and he seems stunned they are turning on him.

I think Petrino might be available again real soon. C’mon Arkansas, how about you put the old band back together for another run?

Biggest problem they have is the extension they gave Pittman after last season.

7-6 with a Liberty Bowl win over Kansas, got him an extra year.

Arkansas is going to wait until after next season when Arkansas goes winless in the SEC.

Multiple SEC jobs will open up and Arkansas hires another Sam Pittman.
