You did from me and several others. We all just wanted Jimbo and Herman more.

He's #3 on a lot of posters' lists. Too bad Alleva can't see past the tip of his fricking nose.

Wasn't T Boone Pickens publicly critical of him several times this year? That would make me want to look around as well.

Blame the majority of fans who wanted coach O. Gundys name was out there and every poll I saw made it clear Jimbo or Herman were the only two coaches worth passing up coach O. Dumbasses

Why do we pay an athletic director if all he is going to do is stick his finger in the air and check which way the wind is blowing from the fan base? It's the AD's job to make the best hire. The AD is supposed to be informed enough and know the coaching landscape enough to find the best coaches. Joe the Plumber that calls the Coach Orgeron Show is not the best judge of who LSU should hire for the head coaching position.

Relative to that program, he's been beyond unreal.

Ok St isn't some bottom feeder. He's had good enough teams to win big and didn't. He's a fine coach, but he's no home run hire and wouldn't be a sure championship contender at lsu. He would be just as much of a gamble as the rest of the second tier candidates lsu had listed they were interested in.

Gundy's been really impressive in his 10+ years at OSU. Is Pickens the main reason he wants out? Just crazy, I mean he's an alum.

I call BS. BU is a dumpster fire with only 1 HS recruit. This is close to SMU coming back from probation. He would be worlds biggest idiot if he does this. OK state is his alma mater

I would have very much liked to see Gundy get our HC job. as long as he would kept Aranda.

The guy was in everyone's second tier. At least if they watch football. He's done better at OSU than Les.

Would have bee a great hire. And is light years ahead of Orgeron in terms of coaching resume.

He's a much better option, and could be a legit 10 year hire.

Ehhh

They fricking suck historically (losing record) and have a weak recruiting base that is already dominated by OU.

He had been FAR and away their best coach in modernity and he's been very consistently good with lesser talent.

I mean I get it though. If we would have waited and interviewed Gundy, Fleck, McIntyre, etc. Orgeron would have immediately had multiple offers from other schools and we would have surely lost him.

This is just like Miles/Arky talk. He isn't going anywhere. Just getting a raise.

FWIW:
Baylor: Word began to get out today about the possibility of Baylor speaking with Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy. Sources tell FootballScoop this is straight coaching search legend….not based in reality. Not happening.

Well I certainly don't think O is a home run hire or any less of a gamble either. I'm just saying Gundy isn't the proven guy y'all think he is. You can't assume he can compete for championships just bc he does good for a lower program, especially considering the conference he coaches in.
