Tucker is out. Never was a real contender outside of the woke crowd. Riley is a long shot that is playing this to get a raise, unfortunately that only leaves Dumbo out of that list.

So it's either Riley or Jimbo.
MSU is about to pay Tucker $7 million a year, and would probably match anything just north of that.
Meaning LSU needs to offer $9+ million for Tucker - which is a ludicrous amount of money for someone who has accomplished nothing as a head coach.

I know people say extensions mean nothing and I guess while it's possible Tucker and MSU could have reworked his contract to up the buyout for a potential departure to their benefit, I'm not sure I see it.
Even if it was coordinated with MSU, it would be a bad look publicly for Tucker to sign an extension and leave a couple weeks later.
It may not be appreciated on LSUs part for them to work to sign Tucker and he coordinates with MSU to up the buyout LSU has to pay.
So I really do think he's out with the MSU extension

You had to interview Tucker because he was the most qualified minority hire
The optics of James Franklin probably didn't even get him an interview especially with the way he handled the Vandy rape allegations - that would have been impossible to spin as you know the media would have hammered that home with all the recent LSU allegations
Unless you go assistant route I can't think of any other minority candidates - maybe Shaw at Stanford but they are struggling bad this year
