If i’m Michigan, why would I want Deboer?
Why would I want a guy who hasn’t won a NC at a place that has been a NC factory and is willing to leave that?

He only had a 1 year show cause, it's about to be up.
Harbaugh suspended for a few games in 2023 and got 2 separate show-cause penalties on his way out.
Moore got suspended for a few games over the sign stealing scandal and now this whole fiasco.
And Michigan should hire someone else who’s freshly coming off NCAA sanctions? Talk about not giving a frick about public perception of your program

He played at Ohio State, that’s the only job he leaves ND for.

That would be a disaster. Gruden is not made for the college game. College qb's would exasperate him the first week of practice.
oh i agree. I think its a terrible idea.
Dan mullen is another name I could see going and actually doing well there

It's time for Les Miles to make his comeback.
I know it's a joke, but most of the world doesn't realize Les has horrible, horrible dementia. He is not long for this world unfortunately. Really sad.

They have to cut ties with the Harbaugh era at this point. 7 staffers arrested and 4 banned from CFB since he took over. Got them a ring* but they're so pretentious the powers that be will want to return to the "Michigan Man" standard.

Won't happen but the most entertaining would be Deboer to Michigan.

It ends on December 31, 2025, I believe.

I don't think Alabama would be too interested these days in Dabo. He does not like to use the portal and he is anti NIL for the most part. And it is hard to compete anymore without it. Sark is all in to both.

Brian Kelly would absolutely crush it at Alabama. The humiliation of being fired from LSU will have motivated him.

I crack up every time I see this GIF. I can almost hear that goofball.

I don't like Joel Klatt but he is usually dialed in with potential coaching searches named these three and I think it could come to fruition.
Clark Lea - Vandy
Mike Elko - Texas A&M
Kenny Dillingham - AZ St.

as far as michigan...i really am not sure, but Potnoy is pushing Gruden big time, dont think it will be him but maybe
That’s a bit since he works for Dave.
Also, you guys have to get it out of your heads that Portnoy has serious pull at Michigan. He’s internet famous and wealthy but there are way more Michigan donors with deeper pockets than Portnoy. He’s likely laughed at when the actual big money Michigan donors get together.

Don't be so sure. Too many SEC fans think their schools are rich. You're not.
In the SEC, only the Texas schools could match Michigan if they really open the coffers. For every mega donor a UAT, AU, UGA or LSU has, Michigan has half a dozen just like him, and a thousand more that made VP/CEO somewhere in the vast global auto industry who can top any of the regional car dealers and real estate moguls the SEC has. Then there is their sheer number of living alumni who are potential donors.
Check out this listing of Universities ranked by living alumni LINK(and note who's #1 - IU) where UM checks in at #3 with 697k. Texas and ATM are #6 and #8. UAT, nowhere near the top 10, is less than 1/3rd that, and knowing them, they likely count UAB and UAH grads in that. LSU checks in with 250K. Auburn is right in that range with 246k.
The SEC's resource has always been its recruiting grounds. Now that NIL and social media have opened up that world, the SEC will be in an uphill fight against mostly richer schools with larger alumni bases to draw on.

That's a huge wall of text to say nothing. If Deboer leaves it won't be because of money. Bama pays as much as anyone.
Posted on 12/11/25 at 10:26 am to TheRealTigerHorn
This is like when someone mentioned endowment numbers to talk about how much money a school could have
bama would match any reasonable offer they would give. Maybe he wants to leave for other reasons but they aren’t going to over him some insane contract he can’t say no to or bama can’t match
