If the University of Michigan is under the financial pressures that are reported (and as an adjunct professor there, I have a decent basis for asserting that they are) what are they doing flying around to golf resorts and coaches' residences in a $14 million dollar airplane that costs $2-3 thousand an hour to operate? Didn't they learn anything from what happened to the bozos from General Motors?

We have no idea where any of the people involved in this process may be coming from. Apparently scattered all over the country..

I actually think it makes more sense. UM, just like other successful universities, extend well beyond their home city. This jet just appears to be a work horse beyond their home area.

It's not UM's plane. The booster lends it out when needed.

I think people forget that there are a number of things ongoing in BTR that would result in the use of a plane.
I'd like for one person to tell me why this plane hasn't flown to the state of Michigan in forever.

The last time it was in Michigan was 10/26.
You're telling me in the last 2.5 months there has been no need for this jet that apparently is heavily involved in UM's athletics and academics to be there?
