Michigan fired offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell on Tuesday, ending his three-year tenure with the team and his first as play-caller.
Campbell oversaw an offense that had slipped to 112th nationally in scoring and 129th in passing this fall, while using three different starting quarterbacks. He served as Michigan's quarterbacks coach in 2022, mentoring eventual first-round NFL draft pick J.J. McCarthy when the team won its first national championship since 1997.

When Michigan promoted offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore to head coach, Moore then promoted Campbell to the coordinator role.
"This was a decision that I felt was in the best interest of our football program," Moore said in a statement. "I want to thank Kirk for his hard work and dedication to the university, Michigan football and our student-athletes. I wish him well in his future coaching endeavors."
Tight ends coach Steve Casula will serve as interim offensive coordinator. Michigan, which upset archrival Ohio State to finish the regular season at 7-5, will learn its bowl assignment and opponent this weekend.

Them taking Sloan to go with Underwood would ease the pain a little bit honestly

I honestly think that’s what is about to happen.

Nuss has been through like 4 offensive coordinators here I don’t think Sloan will make him jump ship.

That would be great for us. Michigan paying his buyout and freeing us from having to fire his arse.

I will be VERY pissed if we hire a guy that's gonna have us strictly in the shotgun. But I trust Sherrone to not be that dumb

Could anyone else have done much better? Michigan doesn’t have a P4 qb on their roster. M fans, what are the thoughts on this?

relieved that KC is gone
he was the QB coach in 2023. his biggest claim to fame is that JJ Mccarthy spoke highly of him
this year, he was QB and OC. you're correct that the talent at QB isn't very desirable
that being said, as a playcaller, he was pretty terrible. you might laugh at this, but he shoulda ran more. case in point, we were driving the ball late in the game against Minnesota, up by 7, and w/ about 4 mins to go on 3rd down, he calls a pass, which is incomplete. clock stops, and we kick a FG to go up by 10
if he calls a run, clock keeps bleeding, and minny only has time for one possession. instead, because we passed, Gophers scored, and almost recovered the onside
other issues were inserting Orji (running QB who can't throw worth a damn) and throwing the offense out of rhythm
when our 3rd string QB (jack tuttle) had a smidge of success passing against Washington, KC thought that we could run the WCO instead of running with a VERY underrated back in Mullings
nothing against the guy, but he had to go

quote:because his background as an OL coach and the fact that Jim promoted him to OC specifically cause that bum Gattis had us trying to be a spread offense.
But why?
