Don’t really get the Zimmer firing either.

I get the Zimmer firing. The Vikings have plateaued. Every season either just barely good enough to get in the playoffs or just bad enough to barely miss out on the playoffs. Too many seasons of spinning their wheels on the same level of the food chain.

Miami Fires Brian Flores by lob1284
So Miami ownership must have made this decision last week after getting blown out by the Titans.

If Miami ends up with Harbaugh then that’ll tell us this decision was made when Michigan beat OSU last month

I could see a scenario where Flores became frustrated with the front office and basically asked to be let go.

Must have been a power struggle or they already have their next coach in the bag. Flores is going to land on his feet.

Reports saying they’re not looking at Harbaugh. Who would be a better option than what Flores is doing at this point?

Saw on Twitter that they have a loose agreement with his replacement already. Can't wait to see who it is.

While I realize many are assuming Flores’ departure is tied to Harbaugh’s potential availability, I can assure you that is not the case. The Dolphins are not targeting Jim Harbaugh, per sources. The decision to fire Flores is entirely independent.

The decision to fire Flores can be summed up with one word: Relationships. His relationship with Grier and Tua had deteriorated to a pretty bad place. Along with constant staff changes, owner Steve Ross no longer saw Flores as a healthy fit in Miami.

Would be hilarious if it is like a rethread. Give me Pat Shurmur to the Dolphins

So he was on bad terms with the two people most responsible for his team being shitty so they fired him?

Something more than just coaching going on here if I had to guess. Look for the typical dog whistle narrative here and national screaming bloody murder on this one.

The GM who has bumbled their rebuild is a hypnotist.

He's basically sold Ross that Tua is going to be a star and Flores was holding him back. Oh and not having a pick in 2022 is also Flores's fault, just like the OL.

Grier thought he was smart trading back from 3 to 12 and then up to 6 and both Chase and Pitts weren't there (as he expected). Miami stagnated b/c they didn't just sit at 12 and pick Slater (and rely on Tua, who they picked over Herbert. Never forget).

A team like Jacksonville who needs a culture reset should jump all over him asap.

He should definitely take another shot, he already knows the QB.
