Really just depends how serious Miami is about rebuilding the program.

Cristobal is from Miami and a Miami alum. He went back home and to his alma mater. Oregon is the better job.

this really isn’t that hard.

He’s from Miami, went to the U, coached at the U, met his wife in Miami, has his whole family in Miami and is Cuban

A Miami that actually cares about football is maybe the most dangerous program in the country. Yes. It's a better job, potentially.

Have you been to Eugene? Have you been to Miami? If latter solves stadium issue, checkmate.

Meh. Not Miami, not Bend, not Boise, not Spokane, not Seattle....

It’s not Pullman, so not worst P12/town, at least something in it’s favor.

They are similar jobs. Both have a chance to succeed in relatively weak overall conferences. In the Pac, Lincoln is about to get USC rolling and UCLA is likely to make a move this year or next to replace Chip and will present another competitor. In the ACC, Clemson appears to be vulnerable now and there's really nobody else in the conference beyond that. I guess Wake Forest is kind of coming along.

Miami has access to a much much better recruiting footprint, though. If the right coach gets that program going the right direction, look out. And of the Florida universities right now, which one do you think will have the best head coach and staff and start righting their ship the fastest? Cristobal at Miami could be pretty dang good.

This.

I could be coach of the NE Patriots, but if LSU came calling for me, I'd be unable to say no.

Cristobal realized the kind of players that go to Oregon for the Nike connects don't win you championships.

Miami is hands down can be the better job

Depends on the admin. They've got an AD in place now with the want to win who is also a U alum. The rest of the admin. has to get on board.

They are like a coiled spring in many ways. But the recruiting grounds being richer is the defining metric for me. Manny was out recruiting UF and FSU in the state with Saban acting like a robber baron over all of them. I'm thinking Cristobal will step it up even more and all personal stuff aside that makes UM the better job.

Their fans, not fanBASE because there's not much base, will return in droves with just a modicum of success.

Yeah, it’s a “bar” move for someone who is from Miami. Why would he want to do that, when coaches just never leave Eugene, Oregon?
