This reeks of a Sexton move to expedite a DC position he is negotiating for Odom.

I saw where Liberty is trying to make him one of the best deals outside P5.

Need to go in the same direction that led them to Fuente and Norvell. Go for an up-and-coming coordinator....

Napier could slide right in to that job. Also an ex az state coordinator line Norvell.

I'm not bullshitting, but Memphis has Odom as one of their top targets. And no, not for a DC gig, but head coach.

No they don't. I mean, they don't, do they? They better not.

Rumors were, Odom would follow last Memphis head coach to Vatech to be his Dcoord, but i thought it was announced that Vatech hired a Dcoord a day or 2 ago.

But Odom is a real candidate for Memphis, which would suck for them, because they at least had football that was fun to watch. Sure, they played no defense, but they went up and down the field. Rather watch Big12 type football, than that 12-9 shite LSU and Bama used to play.

Odom hires a young ocoord who wants to push the ball, they could continue to be a fun team to watch, but man, Odom is not a good Head Coach, no matter how many moronic Missouri fans try to claim he is.

Am I wrong, but it seems like Memphis usually moves pretty quick with their searches. Again, I might be remembering something completely different

I don’t think Memphis hires Odom. He has connections to the program from his time here and was well liked. This may be as simple as them giving him a boost toward his next job. That happens all the time in college football.

Memphis will more likely hire a guy like Napier from a lower G5 or an up and coming OC. That’s their formula and it has worked well for two cycles.

They may go after Chip Long, their former OC who was very successful there and is now at Notre Dame. They could also promote Ryan Silverfield, which is who Norvell recommended on his way out, but I doubt the go that route without some nos first. I don’t think they bother with Freeze. That would be a needlessly expensive hire and would be divisive here.
