Wow. He was one of the higher ranked players in that class. While tragic, he is fortunate that the medical staff found this. Hope he gets his heart and has a good life.

No doubt. I watched part of their game vs Fresno St. and the Bulldogs were manhandling them up front.
Joe is pretty excitable....but he seems to really rev it up when he calls Mizzou vs Florida. He had called at least three of the games. He called the 2014 game in Gainesville when Marcus Murphy went nuts and had a KO return TD, a rushing TD, and a punt return TD. There was also a pick six for the defense. He called the 4th and 13 game and then this week.

Kane's defense creates a lot of turnovers when they all get their eyes right. Im not a fan of the 3-3-5 but Womack knows how to coach it. I'd like to think for as much as they are paying Drink, they will keep giving him the cash to keep his staff. I think Batoon will leave for a HC job before he leaves for a another coordinator position.
Speaking of leaving for a HC job, Kirby is off to a rough start on the Palouse. They might win two games this year. That offense is turrible.

agreed. they add two more scores on top of the 7 point lead in the second half and MSU has to abandon the running game and throw to keep up. Batoon goes wide 9 and Hopkins adds a couple more sacks in that game. Instead, Drink does Drink things and Lebby gets to keep his offense on schedule and we know the rest of the story.

was supposed to be the undoing of the program. Through 5 games, here is where Batoon's 2026 defense compares to the 2025 defense in it's first 5 which included an extra non con game
TFLs- 39 TFLs to 33 in 2025
Sacks- 15 Sacks to 12 in 2025
Scoring Defense- 20 ppg to 14.6 ppg in 2025.
The level of competition faced is not close at all. The 2026 defense has faced three P4 teams, two of which were ranked.
Batoon has put together a defense that honestly has very few questions on it other than FS.

Florida spent a lot of effort to negate Hopkins which freed up the tackles. Dowell, Simpson, and Gracial worked Florida's interior.

I think it was opponent specific. Florida is an outside zone offense. You have to set the edge vs OZ and Webb stuck the OTs everytime they ran it at him. Woodward, Rodriguez, and Banner were clean all game long.

Played 33 snaps at defensive end. He was Missouri's 4th highest rated defender and had 3 pressures and a sack. Kudos to Sterling and the Dline coaches.
