He did. What do you not understand? Woodward goes after big time names as well. This makes perfect sense.

Why did Peterson quit coaching? Honestly I have no clue why he suddenly gave it up at Washington

Think he just wanted a break to spend time with family. I’ll have to look it up.

Yep and honestly his record at Washington wasn’t great but at Boise it was unbelievable

Can you give examples?

I gave examples? Petersen is either coming here or going to USC, where he’s gonna micromanaged and have to deal with what USC’s become, a toxic, has-been of a program. We have the horses to be back in the title hunt next year. If TDP doesn’t go off in every game down the stretch and leave for the draft, shite. He’ll have a crew.

True. Petersen said he wasn’t interested in the USC job. Said he still isn’t ready to coach about a month ago. However... I find it very hard to believe he wouldn’t take the LSU job if offered. LSU is the better coaching job in my opinion and he has already coached PAC 12 before, he probably wants something new.

I can think of many coaches better including Aranda.
Aranda has a better resume than Peterson? I don't think so.

Maybe he just doesn't want to coach anymore?

Maybe he doesn't want to deal with extreme expectations from a fanbase?

Maybe he thinks if I could pull talent to Boise who hell knows how incredible I’d be at LSU

To put it mildly

I'd say he would be an extraordinarily disappointing hire

Let’s be honest, there’s no way in hell LSU will ever hire a black coach like Mel Tucker. It’s almost like Charlie Strong at Texas. The boosters and fan base will tear him to shreds.

If Tucker is hired then maybe there's alot more to the locker room culture happenings than what we know

His W/L at Washington isn’t as good as Boise but in 6 years at UW he won the Pac 12 twice, and tied for first in North division another year, and went to the playoffs. He had mass exodus of talent to the pros but still had a winning season that following year.

He led them to their first Pac 12 title in 16 years.

We all know Washington can’t get the horses LSU can.

I rather aim higher than Peterson.

Also, if Peterson was the guy then why would it take till after the season to hire him? Explain that? I am not being a jerk at all. Genuinely asking.

Winning cures all.

Things can go south real quick if you lose a lot.

Mel’s not my favorite, but I’d take him all day everyday over Napier. And flip a coin between him and Aranda, because their resumes are basically the same. The melt at the prospect of his hiring is unwarranted.

Such as? I've wanted Peterson for years, so I think he, Riley, Fickell, or Aranda would all be a great hire.

Definitely a good point. He's not ready yet, but give SW months to work on him and $7-8mm a year or whatever and that could change his mind.

Well for one, it was in a different post.

But he gave example, none of which would make anyone logical say, "everything points to Peterson" when the only direct evidence is Peterson saying he'd get back into coaching if it were the right job.
