He was surprised with Lincoln, he thought it would be Matt Campbell.

I’m genuinely curious what Campell’s hold up on accepting other offers is.

Money doesn't motivate him.

He is the type that values fit over other stuff.

If that is the case then ND really needs to look at him. He could be a great fit there. Anyone know if he is catholic?

There is this narrative (mentioned again in this show) that it’s a given LR will build SC back into a monster. I guess we’ll see since the last two coaches failed.

He wants to be the best version of himself and he can only do that at Iowa State.

Nothing is a given in CF, but if you can’t see that Riley at USC puts the Trojans prospects for success on a huge vertical trajectory considering where SC was with Clay Helton, you’ve got some really dark shades on.

I think both Lincoln and USC will recruit well enough off of their name alone to wreck the PAC. I still do not believe he will ever be able to get over the hump and win playoff games, at least not consistently.

Lol the dude is a MONSTER recruiter, and was already killing it in California. Now imagine what he'll do there. He'll do great in the PAC 12 and will only need a break or two and the right year to breakthrough in the playoffs

Riley's ceiling will always be head coach of a conference champion. He is never going to win a national championship anywhere.

you can say this about any coach and you'll be right 98% of the time.

I think he'll do well but...he has no experience rebuilding. OU was in really good shape when he took over.

It's a completely new task for him

That’s fair enough, but recruiting is a pretty important factor in CF and he’s already improved SC’s future talent exponentially. Give it three years and he’s got a legit chance to turn this program into a powerhouse once again.
