Just curious why you are certain Campbell wouldn't come to LSU.

I’m not certain but the reason I am 90% certain is his level of comfort and happiness at ISU and the roots they have put down.

People love Iowa. Something that outsiders don’t understand.

Better title would've been "My opinion"

Matt Campbell is the guy. No source.

He's taken a program that had nothing, has limited resources and a 'second place' status in state and made them legitimately competitive.

I'm not sure if Matt Campbell is ready for prime-time. That's what the vetting process is all about. I'm not sure he'd be ready to roll on day one.

I am 100% certain he'll be an elite coach when he gets to a real program with real resources and a strong recruiting base.

LSU could do much, much worse.

You left out the demographics, or was that " it "

I'm not discounting this. Contrary to what a lot of posters believe, a bigger payday isn't the motivating factor for every coach. I'm sure there is a level of comfort and happiness for a guy like Campbell and his family.

However, we don't know what his goals are. With the landscape of the Big XII changing in the near future, he might be thinking about how much further he can realistically take Iowa State.

Chicken started a thread about many great hires being due to timing. The timing might be right for Campbell to make a move now if he's ever going to do so.

I would be fine with Campbell.

Honestly, there arent a lot of names being mentioned that aren't a substantial upgrade in coaching ability.

I think there is a potential for the top 6-7 guys to build a nice legacy here. Anywhere from Riley to Napier/Aranda type hires

She has said many times he’s loves where he is at and they have more money than they ever thought possible.

I bet Woody could persuade her.
