His name is not being mentioned and he is the best coach that is looking up at LSU program. He could say No. But he is the guy.
Woodward wants a splash. This is the guy. Franklin is a 6 and 4 guy a year vs Big 10 teams with talent.

I want the coach that is a coach. Like Saban not a rah rah guy. Seems like Campbell is that guy and Woodward has a history of getting a guy who has been targeted but has not moved somewhere yet.

Not withstanding the hyperbole of OP, Campbell is a very good HC, has a solid program, and appears to keep his nose clean.
Ames can't be an easy place to recruit to.
Sometimes the really solid, vanilla guy is the best choice.

Campbell is intriguing. So is Kiffen and Tucker. But Scott has to do his homework and find out the bad habits that generally we the fans don't know or hear about. We will get a good coach. But who???

As an ISU and LSU alum and former long-term resident of Ames with a lot of friends still in the "correct" social circles, I can assure you Matt Campbell is not coming to Baton Rouge.
Part of me would love to see what Matt could do with LSU-level talent, but he is not going to take the LSU job.

Just curious why you are certain Campbell wouldn't come to LSU.

The cool thing about Campbell is that he does what he has to do to win.
Recruiting to Ames is about impossible.
So.. he recruits big wide receivers and tight ends. He figured out that if can’t out athlete you, he was going to use size to close the gap.
Matt can flat out coach. He one of the best pure coaches in college football.

I think matt camphell is a great coach.

From what I’m told by people who are close to his wife (friends wives) another school isn’t likely. The right NFL job would be possible but it would have to be a great fit.
She has said many times he’s loves where he is at and they have more money than they ever thought possible.
Remember ISU was the place he called her from the field after a game when he was the visiting coach saying it was a special, special place and someday she should see it. That was a year before he was approached about the ISU job
