By hiring Mike Locksley. Not only does he have a 3–31 record as a coach, but he has been involved in multiple lawsuits and domestic disputes with players and coaches. Have they given up on football or is their vetting process that bad?

He's an O hire, local guy who a recruiter and liked by the local coaches but has been shitty when he was a HC. But since Maryland is generally crappy program, the powerhouse who made the O hire is worse.

He's the godfather of the DMV. Good offensive mind and has a babe arse wife. He's gonna get some goons at Maryland. Hell Durkin had a top 20 class. And it ain't like they are going against exceptional minds in that bum division in the BIG.

If the East is a bum division, what do you consider the West?

He already has a head start on a shitty record at Maryland considering he was 1-5 there previously after they fired Edsall midseason

If he can get 1/4 of the guys he has gotten to Bama to stay home, he'll have a chance to be successful. Realistically, he won't do that, but maybe keep the 3* players in that area at home.

He'll be able to keep some 4 stars there but that doesn't mean he'll win.

Terrible isn't a strong enough word to describe how bad he was at New Mexico

You don’t often see a HC punch his assistants in the face during staff meetings, get banned from his own offices, and sexually harassing employees on his way to compiling a baboon shite record.

It was just damn impressive how he fricked shite up there.

Literally the only reason he was hired as a HC is because he was at Bama. That’s apparently a get out of jail free card

I agree, terrible hire, and anyones offense could have been plugged in and been successful at Bama this season being loaded like they are on offense... He was terrible at NMU... but maryland is a hotbed for talent as that map shown last week... hell its right behind Florida Georgia and LA... caught me by surprise for sure...

He's still a fairly young coach. He got the New Mexico job when he was like 39 years old and his coaching mentor was Ron Zook. It's definitely a risky hire but I'd guess he will be a much better head coach now than he was 8-9 years ago.

I still wouldn't have hired him if I were their AD, though.
