You don't care if the young defensive coordinator recruits?

Just to let you know, players love the guy. He was a player himself

I really hope this thread is true.
I always thought it would be a tough pull

Just read that Freeman’s kids are named Vinny, Siena, Gino, Nico, Capri, Rocco

Not really. It’s not a deal breaker for me. Aranda wasn’t exactly Nick Saban on the recruiting trail

Not a theory that seems to be a fact.

LSU can't pony up and offer enough big bucks with the limited budget either.

On campus and in-home? sure. Even chavis could woo recruits once they visited. I don’t think we’ve had an “ace recruiter” DC since maybe Muschamp

Actually Steele is a damn good recruiter but was only here 1 season. I get what you’re saying tho. Aranda was more of an eval guy

Must you bleed in every thread? There is no limited budget, but you already knew that.

A source close to the negotiations confirmed Monday night that Cincinnati defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman has agreed to a new two-year contract that will pay the 34-year-old assistant $600,000 in the first year.
The new deal is a $75,000 privately-funded raise for Freeman, who also coaches the linebackers for UC.

The contract comes a couple of weeks after the university announced an extension for Fickell that keeps him at the helm of the Bearcats football program through 2026.

What about this? Nothing to see?

CIW at Cincinnati? That’s not a thing. You’re the CIW at top 10 programs and nowhere else. Hell, he could take the DC job here and technically also be the CIW since he’s only 34 and CEO isn’t the youngest.

“Agreed”. Not signed.
But it’s smoke. And if we can’t pull a coach from Cincinnati- well I’m not sure what to say....

Yeah “CIW” is basically just a big red flag that says “whoever is talking is full of shite”

Nope. If the school agrees to a contract that stipulates a huge payday if he’s not named head coach, at a stipulated salary, by a stipulated date, then it’s a real thing.

Except you can’t do that in the NCAA anymore

Who said there was a limited budget that is trustworthy? Brooks is the only one saying that and he has no inside info. It’s quite sad the main br paper doesn’t have an LSU insider.
