Nothing of note so far today. Anyone have any ideas as to where Saban may be recruiting today?

Hey I'm just passing along what someone I trust told me.

And I take it as that, Doc. Anybody can come in here and "say" stuff. In your case, I believe that someone in the position to know has told you these things.

I've been clear in my statements on here - I've seen all the signs of this operation, on the internet for everyone with eyes to see, for about 2 years. The "clearly Sexton floated this trial balloon of 10 years, $100 million" writing on the wall. I understood, superficially, that Texas could pay a lot of money, publically, and that boosters could kick in even more. It was clear that Mack wasn't going to get it done, and there was little chance. His recruits were underperforming and he has been unable to find a QB. I also believed the LHN was in play, as the investment by Texas money people in that was significant.

What I didn't know, until recently, was all this debt stuff. Now it makes even more sense, as this has been festering for this long. This has clearly been Sexton's plan all along, for at least 2 years. Worst case is that they get $2 or $2.5 million boost from Bama for another few years. They're playing chess, while the ADs at Bama and Texas are playing checkers.

Think back to January 2007. Bama fans said that with Nick Saban as their coach, they would win multiple national titles. LSU fans argued with them. Bammers were right.

LSU fans told them that he would always be mentioned for other jobs (Cleveland Browns), extort them for more money, then one night slip out the back door and never look back. Bammers disagreed because, this is Alabama, the greatest football university in the world. Looks like LSU fans were right.

He's got to be winding down and getting ready to pivot - as early as tomorrow, right?

I'm a Les Miles fan and supporter. I wouldn't freak out. I mean it is a better job. Couldn't blame him. Maybe some would but I think the majority would move on pretty quickly.

I think most people would react this way.

The meltdown would come over who was hired to replace him. Because we wouldn't get Saban or Payton or Gruden or any other 'big name' that some rantards seem to think we'd get.

I love watching them try to argue the UT vs Bama and which one is better

I've said it more than once, if Texas offered Miles anything around 8-10 million to be their next coach, if he turned it down he would need to have his head examined. And I'm a solid Les Miles supporter.

This is unassailable analysis and I concur.

I couldn't even bring myself to open that thread. However, I did open the "If Miles uses Texas to get another raise thread".

What does that say about me?

Depends on status of the program too. As an AU person, I'd flip out if Gus left, not because I necessarily think he's the second coming of Saban, but because we're on to something good and it would kill our momentum.

For LSU, UGA, or Auburn after a few years, I think people would generally handle it alright. Especially when you realize the coach is getting "overpaid" to leave.

FWIW, I don't care that LSU fans can't post there. But could he be any more of a bitch?

On the topic of plane tracking... i think we are past that point... we are at the point where leaks and facts will be more telling than trying to find a plane.. Its kinda like when we track hurricanes, at first we only track computer models and such, but once it gets close enough to land, the models are useless and we start using satellite and hunter flight data.

Muscona is the Cowherd of BR

Cowherd is an arrogant a-hole.
