I tend to agree. The story has gotten too big for neither party to speak until the regents meeting on Thursday. Something big should happen tomorrow either way.

I should also note about the deloss dodds story that the day after chip broke the news, dodds was on the LHN halftime show of our football game that week saying he wasn't retiring and that he would tell us if he was. Then the next week he retires. Our AD (we refer to them as Belmont after the building they're housed in) are/were huge control freaks about messaging. They only wanted the messages that they wanted to get out when they wanted them out. Anything that deviated from the standard was summarily denied even if it was true and they announced it later on.

If you don't think Bama's spike in enrollment, especially from out of state, has anything to do with Saban and football success, I'm not sure what to tell you.

From personal experiences (and being a former out of state student), that plays a large part.

My sources at the highest level of Texas have re-confirmed my report. I hope we can start talking about Mack Brown’s legacy at Texas soon.

Do you think this could get ugly for Texas and Mack?

So who is the highest level, the AD who said nothing has happened or the prez who is a Brown supporter? Are the rich booters considered the higher level? The Regents who are supposedly 5-4 in support of him? I'm confused. This is like a tennis match that won't end.

I think it already is for Mack at least. Consensus amongst us horns is that Belmont said its time to go, and Mack (in true form) acted like a titty baby and went rogue. Hence him issuing his own denial. Usually the univ president will issue the denials. I think our AD wants to make it out to be him stepping down but word is Mack is dug in (for 5.4mm per season I would be too) and he's only going down with a fight.

Behind the scenes this no doubt has to be ugly. Mack's given 16 years to the university. The fans are calling for his head and his university isn't doing jack shite to quell the rumors. Just, "oh he hasn't resigned and we haven't decided what we're going to do. But we're having a meeting on Thursday"

If I'm Mack I stop "killing myself" on the recruiting trail and say peace out frickers.

That's how I'm picturing it.

What's the buyout in his contract like?

Sports center is running it now saying he will step down this week. I think UT gave him the option to step down. Mack said GFY and went to work recruiting. Either he goes out stepping down or they will fire him. He just won't accept it

It is pretty fricked up in a human interest story kinda way. Like your grandad getting pushed out of his job at the mill...

That said, I'm tired of my Dawgs having to recruit against that midget MFer and I hope the Bammers burn the whole damned state down when he leaves.

Reported to be around 2.75MM I think but I'd have to look. On phone atm so can't check easily.
