LSU is also making a hard run at Notre Dame OC Tommy Rees, sources tell @TheAthletic, in addition to DC Marcus Freeman.

There's optimism in Baton Rouge that Rees is coming, per a source.

Hard to see him leaving right now considering he went to ND.

Not really.

I can see him coming and freeman staying.

He knows brian kelly.

Is he even any good? I was hoping for a bit different offense than ND runs.

I would think you’ll get a different offense no matter what with the abundance of elite athletes at receiver and the #1 qb bitting campus next year.

I don't know much about him, but some ND guys basically said he runs what Kelly wants and doesn't have full control of the offense.

In terms of style I have been reading that Kelly likes to shape his offense around the personnel he has. Cincy he ran more spread and at ND more tight end sets.

I hope he doesn't bring del alexander as rumored.

We can do better at wide receiver coach. I would just keep joseph if alexander is who he is bringing.

Just how many assistants do you think new coaches keep?

It damn sure better be different. To win in this extremely tough SEC, you've got to SPREAD the field and you've got to have creative, dynamic play calls. You've got to make sure you don't "lose" your physicality in doing so, but the spread is vital. I hope like hell Kelly isn't going to be stubborn. And hopefully Rees has the skills to handle this. I don't know.

His offense is going to be dependent on personnel. At Cincy he ran a super uptempo 4-wide vertical attack vs the balanced, TE heavy offense at ND.

Doubt it will happen.

He's a Notre Dame alum, and his father works for Notre Dame.

Rees is there because he runs Kelly's offense supposedly. If that's the case, you'll be getting the same offense regardless who is picked to be OC
