He is a great recruiter and a great defense of line coach. he has not proven to be even a good head coach, though. The change will undoubtedly spark LSU and they will play better for the rest of the season, but I don't see any scenario where O proves he is the right guy for LSU long term in eight or nine games. I would be uncomfortable with him as the permanent head coach.

It's going to be weird and there will be hard feelings if LSU wins out or goes seven and one, if Herman or Fisher want to come here. Hopefully the LSU admins would do the right thing and tell O thanks but no thanks.

Give the guy a shot, my lord. He hasn't even coached a game.

Oh wow. I'm sorry, but I really couldn't bring myself to read past this.

ETA: Also, you have no clue what O is capable of at this point in time. He's learned a lot from the Ole Miss and USCw situations, and he's going to use all that knowledge this time around. Is he the right man for the job? Probably not, but he's getting his chance to prove his worth, and I'm happy for O, and very excited to see his version of the Tigers.

How do you know? Dick! USC thought the same thing. Is there ANY doubt they would have been better staying with an undefeated Coach O?

that is the whole point. I am assuming that they look very good from here on out considering the talent level and experience on the team. There is a lot more to coaching then taking over someone else's team and running out a season.

Firing Miles only to hire Orgeron would be fairly stupid. I can't imagine that is the plan.

This is simple your opinion. I say lets watch the rest of the season and go from there. You're not gonna find another coach that loves the tigers anymore than O

Typical knee-jerk LSU fandom...

I do hope LSU wins out and hires an established head coach that has successfully run a program for multiple years. Including off-seasons.
