Getting a team fired up and ready to run through a wall for you after an emotional tragedy like losing your coach is a lot easier than running a program long term.
I have confidence Coach O can do the former, but not the latter.

Honestly, I doubt there are a lot of individuals on earth that could inherit this program right now and retain the fire and optimism we are experiencing right now. When
I heard Miles was fired I figured the season was sacrificed. Right now I feel it's way salvageable. Coach O is the right man at the right time. Can we do better? Give him a damn chance first

I am 100% supportive of him getting a full shot at this BEFORE any silly conclusions. If he does not show us great reasons to keep him - and with our schedule he has every chance to do so - it will be his job. If not, then your note would theoretically be valid.

In all honesty, while O is from Cutoff and a Cajun, he was not a dyed-in-the-wool Tiger. His origins are not as a Tiger and led him to many places that were not LSU. He did sign but transferred quickly to NSU.
I do recognize his heritage angle and respect it, but I want to see where this goes first. He has my 100% support at this time.

Let me say this s l o o o o o o w l y. Finishing out another head coach's season is not a good representation of what it is to run a program. No matter what happens the rest of this season (and I expect they will look improved) it will not prove that he is the long-term solution for LSU football. He may have learned or improved or whatever, but the jury will be out on him as a head coach until he has actually been a head coach for 3-5 years. He has only been a true head coach once and was roughly tied with one other guy for the worst head coach Ole Miss has had since the 1930s.
Even if he wins out this season, it's a risky hire. Period. End of story.
"He hasn't even coached a game yet" is invalid as an argument.
