Not sure why you're responding to me? I was just laughing at the pic in BHP's response.
I realize everything that was required to complete this season. Don't blame admin for firing Miles (except it should have been last year), nor do I blame them for putting an interim coach in place (although Alleva should have said nothing about it being an audition). I simply don't have confidence in this admin/money backers to complete a thorough, professional coaching search, plain and simple. If all of these Jimbo leaks are true, it's a damn shame that as professionals, our people in power can't keep their collective mouths shut. I've been privy to many corporate or personnel changes in my career. I was threatened with losing my position if it got out ahead of the formal announcement. Hoping this turns out for the best. We'll see in a couple weeks.
To OP: It is not in my DNA to actively cheer against LSU. Let's win out and let the chips fall where they may.

here's the cold hard truth:
Our record would be the same, whether we kept Miles, made Ensminger/Raymond/Aranda/Peveto interim, or went with Orgeron as interim.
You don't fire a legendary coach and pay his buyout to hire his assistant. Especially when said assistant has a losing record as a HC in YOUR conference.
There's a reason other SEC fans are wanting us to hire Orgeron- and it isn't because they like a "feel good" story.
I want an offense and Orgeron wouldn't deliver that. I'm tired of the CEO type coach. That shite doesn't work anymore---ask Mack and Miles.
The media is already preparing a story for us to keep O and he's actively fricking hiring people to lobby that story. We've already seen this administration puss the frick out and cave several times.
It's for the best of the program if we lose one of the next two. We need new blood. The program is stale AF.
GO GATORS! GO AGGIES!

I actually agree with this. The firing of Miles was more about getting him out of the way than anything. And if he would have gotten out of his own way, we would probably have the same record right now.

I've said this before and I don't know why it sticks. Someone brought up Hugh Freeze saying O wasn't given enough time at Ole Miss. As if LSU should give him more time. No, Freeze wants to have an easier win every year. Using the opinions of CURRENT head coaches in our Division is about the most insane thing I've ever heard in this debate. Nick Saban would want nothing more than to face O every year.

This actually gets on my nerves "doing all the right things," involves playing the political game rather than the one on the field and in the office, setting up to hire great talent and starting to build a long term plan. This is precisely the idea that makes me like O less and less. All of the politicking bugs me.
I do not want a "good ole boy" leading LSU. Those types are impossible to get rid of, even if they are not successful.

I hear ya loud and clear. However, out of principle I just can't bring my self to hope for a Tigers loss. I just can't. I want the powers that be not to NOT cave in and grow a sack. I will cross my fingers and pray for that to happen. But I know what you are trying to say.

This should not have to happen like this.
Fans want a legitimate head coach who can run a modern offense and not botch games.
Now it's 2 years in a row the poor admins at LSU have botched things so badly that a large portion of fans have to root against the team winning to save the program from the idiots running the show.
Its real. Its amazing that some seem to believe that the last 7 games of an interim season (in a year where the conference, nor college football is at its best) is enough to hand over the keys to O. I am baffled that the standard for becoming LSU's next HC is so low.

FIFY
No true fan ever roots against their own team.

Do not think for one moment that your circle of friends are a large protion of the fan base.
and FTR I am not all in on O . I'm taking a wait and see position. But it is true that the administration handled this whole thing in nearly the worst (if not the worst) possible way.
Whoever gets the job, I'll be all in for them. Not because of who they are but because they are the football coach of my LSU Fighting Tigers. Just how I'm wired, I guess.

Rooting for the team to lose? No.
That is saved for teams that get better draft picks the more they lose, like the Pelicans.
I'll admit to not caring as much whether we win or lose. I can see the upside to a loss but I've never rooted against a college team when it has no real purpose

If we hire Orgeron I will root against LSU until they take this shite as seriously s I do. We will be a joke

Coach O's audition was bama and he fricking failed miserably.
I agree. He lost the job when they scored 0 points at home. Frick that. Now Feinbaum is on the Coach O bandwagon. That says all you need to know.
