I never root against LSU. Was I upset by losing to Bama? Not really. Was I pissed about the way we lost? ABSO-frickING-LUTELY!

I'll be pulling for LSU regardless. There is a silver lining to losing this season though. I certainly wouldn't be all that upset if we lose. At least it would make it more clear cut to a bunch of talking heads the O is not the guy.

I'm not all the way there but I get where he's coming from. It's long term thinking.

I wish the issue had been settled at the end of last year. This whole season has ended up being a throwaway when LSU had the talent to be in the playoff. The only saving grace for 2016 would be ending the year with a great hire to revolutionize the offense.

Well if you are rooting against LSU you aren't a fan. Period.

I am rooting for a victory but will not be upset if we lose.

I have a sort of knee jerk negative reaction to the OP's statement but I do wonder how many of us would have accepted a loss to A&M last year if it meant LSU had a new coaching staff installed at the start of 2016.

Trading one loss for a chance at the playoff would be a no brainer. I just wouldn't be able to enjoy a game where I wasn't rooting for LSU to win.

No, it's bullshite to pull against LSU and call yourself a "fan." These kids bust their asses all year long and leave it all out on the field, and you want them to lose because you're butthurt that so and so might become the head coach. Get out of here with that shite.

Right on, maybe they didn't think he was the likely guy, but they should have seen what has unfolded in American politics this past year to realize that it is the year of the outsider. 0 has done his damnedest to pull off a similar coup by cynically running a full-scale political operation. Next thing you know it, Nigel Farage will be on the sidelines for the UF game. Many in the fan base are buying it hook, line, and sinker. Sad.

I mean sucks.

Don't care what you or anyone else have to say.

I want them to lose now, so they don't screw themselves later.

Yep. Nailed it. The fact that he brought in ponamsky to be his PR guy was telling.

Alleva should have cut that shut off at the knees before it started.

All he has to say is we will do a thorough search for the best qualified coach after this season. We will find the best most successful and experienced coach with a strong offensive background to lead us into the future. Game over.

If 0 refused to be interim so be it. Anyone else could win the games we win and lose the game we lost.

Coach O walked into a gold mine of talent and simply can't be evaluated based on wins and losses.

That is fricking stupid. What the hell are coaches evaluated on? He can be a great recruiter, speaker, motivator, etc, but the if the SOB loses more games than he wins he will be fired.

If a guy is a total fricking a-hole but wins a lot of games he will get a raise.

Wrong, Coach O's audition is the last 7 to 8 games of the season. The people investing a lot of money into LSU athletics are not pulling against the team and are probably pretty happy with the results so far.

Well that's a good reason to get rid of O. Let's go pay someone $7 to $8 million a year to do the same thing O has done.

The OP is dead right. The administration at LSU is a mess. There is no way this should have ever happened. If Alleva had any balls the minute it was out that O had hired people to actively politic for him to get the job, it should have been shut down.

I can only conclude that what others have said is true that the admins really want O to win the job so they can go cheap. I just don't get why you fire Miles and pay him 9 million to walk if your end game is to do this but that's how idiotic these guys are.

I will actively root for whatever it takes to keep O out. If that means LSU has to lose, so be it. If he gets this program it's over. LSU is no longer a top program and we start down the road of Tennessee after Fulmer and so many other has been football programs.

The main problem with all of this though, and one that so many are missing, is how hard it will be to get O out. For those saying, just give him a 2 or 3 year deal and see how he does, you ain't getting it. He will be way more entrenched than Miles ever was and it took years of bozo coaching to get him gone. With O's local connections and politicking ways, if he ever gets in, we're fricked.

So yes, for what's good for the program, to save it from the fools in charge, we're left to root against our own team again. Even those who say they won't root against LSU are left in the position of not fully enjoying the wins because of this cloud hanging over our heads. It really is a screwed up situation that no other school in LSU's position would put its fans through.

Now it's 2 years in a row the poor admins at LSU have botched things so badly that a large portion of fans have to root against the team winning to save the program from the idiots running the show.

I've never known a single LSU fan to root against LSU in a game. That is absolutely nuts to me. I hope we kill both Florida and A&M and hire a legit coach afterward. These things are not mutually exclusive.

Rooting for the team to lose is retarded. For those who did last year, shame on you. For those who do it this year. Shame on you. GTFO
