Breaking on Mike & Mike. Didn't see a topic headline with it.

I'm e-mailing a couple of resumes for South Florida to review.

Really interesting to see what happens to this program. They seemed like they were kind of on the verge of doing something big, but just crumble every year. They're in a talent rich area, at least.

Would actually be a great fit*
*aside from that whole "mistreatment of players" thing

This is pathetic. Unless what he did was really appauling, this is not a good move. Levitt had been there I think since they started the program in D1. He basically built that program. This is a sad day in that school.

Allegedly he grabbed a player by the throat and hit him twice in the face. I've always liked Leavitt, but if that really happened he has no place in college football.

Bowden built FSU and won National Titles, and he got canned. Leavitt built USF to the 4th best program in the state and went to the International Bowl and the St. Pete Bowl. Lets not pretend his program has ever been any more than mediocre. His team collapsed every year in the second half of the season. If USF is ever going to compete with the U, Florida, or FSU he had to go. His off the field antics sealed the deal.

You say that like USF could pull in a top notch coach to get them over the hump. Who the hell is going to want to go to USF? They're going to have to roll the dice with a lesser known or unproven guy, IMO.

Dan McCarney, UF's d-line coach might be a name to watch.

A reasonably unknown high profile D or O coordinator would be foolish not to take the USF job. You have the best state in the country for recruiting and the Big East is a joke. String together 9-10 wins and your in the BCS. Hell you only have to do it twice and your a sure shot for the Notre Dame gig.

Les Miles to South Florida.

Everyone needs to send a letter or recommendation for Crowton. He would be an excellent fit at USF. While we are sending letters someone type up a press release and get a glossy ready so we can move this thing along as quick as possible

USF became the 3rd best school in the state when they beat FSU. FSU is the 4th best (or maybe 5th).

How many players do you think Woody Hayes hit in his career?
