I think it does. A lot of coordinators have taken HC jobs and stayed on through the playoffs or BCSNCG (Pelini, Aranda, Sark off the top of my head, but I’m sure there’s more. I can’t think of any coordinators that took lateral coordinator jobs and were allowed to stay on. Like Saban isn’t letting Golding stick around if he’s announced as LSU’s new DC. No chance. And a coordinator may feel too loyal to his current team to put that in jeopardy.
I’m not saying Golding’s the guy at DC. But if that’s who Kelly has identified as the best candidate, he has to wait. Frank will help salvage as much of the current class as possible to sign during the early period, but there will be a month between the playoffs and regular signing day, which may wind up being the more important period for this particular class. Especially since a lot of guys will wind up coming from the portal.

Typically, a coordinator to HC remains under wraps until after playoffs, i.e. Aranda.

There's a QB out there nearing an entry in the portal with eyes on LSU. I can't say who at this time cause i don't want to unravel it but i texted a bestie about it and he'll confirm it if it does indeed happen.

I asked this the other day—is Woody willing to go up to 3.5 to get him? I think he’s making 2.1, and you know A&M will probably match anything up to 3. And it make take at least that for him to uproot his family once again after just 1 year in College Station. How high will Scott go? I know 3.5-4 million sounds insane for a coordinator, but make no mistake, it’s coming.
