He literally said he still thinks it's LSU and Ole Miss is hoping on emotions basically.

Rebs grasping at straws here.

First, while I absolutely believe Kiffin verbally committed to LSU late last week — others dispute that, so noted, but it’s what I absolutely believe — I think LSU may have overpromised some financial things and, until and unless LSU can show how those promises will be fulfilled, this won’t get to the finish line.
This was never about salary and money. We’ve reported that from the beginning. LSU has a ton of resources and has promised a full utilization of those resources for Kiffin. However, LSU hasn’t been able to show Kiffin a plan for how it will take those resources and be able to turn them into actionable value (meaning NIL that would get approved by the CSC, NIL Go or whatever body ultimately makes those decisions).
This right here is why LSU will get to the finish line if they do. I've been saying it since the beginning. LSU is further along on the NIL structure than most other universities. They have been working on it for 2+ years now solely to get NIL through the clearing house.
This statement screams that they saw all the tweets by Mars yesterday and are second guessing if LSU can do the NIL. They can.
If Lane stays, it will be because he wants to stay and in that situation, there is nothing LSU can do to change his mind. We've shot out shot, but some things can't be overcome.

No we are in the same place we have been all along.
Its LSU...but its Kiffin and he is prone to emotional decision making...so there is always a chance.
On the NIL...what they are talking about is the general unsettled of NIL right now for everyone. Nobody has done anything with the new rules. Nobody knows what gets approved by the clearinghouse and what doesnt. Nobody knows what happens when something is not approved and a lawsuit happens (how do you tell a person that they aren't worth what someone is willing to pay?). It's all uncertain. LSU has made promises into that uncertainty...but ultimately nobody knows how that falls out.

A source close to Kiffin insists this morning that Kiffin has changed his mind multiple times this week.
This is the most importance piece of the whole post and what should give LSU fans serious unease. We're negotiating with an extremely immature person and offering him the keys to the kingdom.

My 2 cents, I think Lane REALLY likes Oxford and would probably prefer to stay there. He just realizes that he's taken that program as far as he can take it and he wants to go somewhere that he can possibly win multiple championships. I thnk he is having a lot of issues navigating not hurting either side and trying to make them both happy which isn't possible in this case. I believe that he's made his decision but is flopping back and forth with people on telling them the final decision.

Dude will make an emotional decision after the egg bowl and stay. This is how I’ve thought it will play out.

That Mars guy single handedly took down Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss.

Florida and OM looking around while Mizzou gets Drink extended sends a certain message..

If I was ole miss that’s the card I would play too. No one can really predict how strict they will be with approving these new NIL deals.

That's honestly how I read it too they're getting false hopes up. Too much damage for him to return to Ole Miss. The guy even admits LSU has way more resources to them. Sure, it probably takes time for LSU to put this together to prove to Kiffin. You don't think he knows this and why do you think he wanted to leave to begin with?
They're trying to overplay the hand that NIL will be even for everyone. It will not be. It does not matter what rules are passed there's always ways to grey are or skirt around them. The current setup is as simple as funnel money to alumni with legit businesses. That's it.
We might not know the full rule enforcement yet but we know there's things they can't enforce. For example, NCAA has zero authority to cap NIL they will get sued through their teeth. It shouldn't be a worry for Kiffin or any coach that wants more resources.

Apparently this guy has never heard of Turnkey. Roadgator says that all of this was expected and everything is going according to plans.

Eh...thats probably overblowing it. I have left a place I loved for a better job. It sucked. I was torn over it a ton. There were MANY times I considered just staying. There were plenty of folks that tried to pull on the heart strings to keep it from happening.
IT WAS DIFFICULT.
I do not sweat the dude for being torn. I totally get it. If in the end he decided to stay...I would totally get it.
It is honestly the one thing I wouldn't be pissed over. It's a perfectly understandable choice.
...and the wrong one.
but it doesnt mean he is immature.

I’m sure there’s an emotional connection to a program he built for sure. The reality is, it’ll be tough to top what he’s done there this season.
Lane with an aligned LSU behind him could be special, especially if Nick and even O are in his ear telling him what it’s like to win big here.

This exactly. The difference is CEILING. This year is probably the best he can do at Ole Miss.
What he did at Ole Miss this year could easily be the FLOOR at LSU.

Also, he’ll be blamed when they lose in the playoffs too
Whether he stayed or leaves
No win situation - the distraction was done

Maybe he does
I think this is more than what Ole Miss is seeing. I do think Kiffin always wanted the LSU job and this is probably a university in his mind where, "it's as good as it gets". So, in his mindset, if you can't win there you can't win anywhere else. He puts film on every year. He has seen LSU enough. He knows what he's getting into which is why the OP's post is not believable in the slightest. You don't think he knew everything about LSU while around Saban?
