This is an incredibly stupid situation. If he's leaving, why do this crap? Just leave. Why string it out?

Oh wow. That statement about this generation of players not thinking about the next year....

That was very very telling.

Agreed. Basically saying players are influenced by the financials now days. They don’t think about the coach next season (paraphrasing)

He had every opportunity in the world to say, I love it here and im not going anywhere. He could even add "all that needs to happen is for my extension to be highest paying I America"

He didn't. That's not someone who is staying

That guy is gone

IF news does break soon that Lane is coming here, him staying this extra week has to be the most pointless shite ever

We really needed that press conference. Salute to the Ole Miss reporters for asking the tough questions. I thought Kiffin handled it well.

Also salute to ESPN for broadcasting it on SECN so more folks could tune in.

ETA: He gone.

Hey, Lane with just two more wins you'll have the most all time for Ole Miss. Wouldn't that be so cool? Like wow what an achievement!!!

He wants to see the season out with his team. Admirable, but he’s clearly gotten the deadline once the regular seasons up he’s gotta bounce since he’s decided he wants to move on

Use your brain. It has been stated ad nauseam. If it were up to him, he'd finish the season AND playoffs and then be a Tiger. They let him coach the egg bowl. Chill the frick out

He wanted to finish the season and pissed off that Ole Miss leaked out stuff to force his decision instead of waiting until the end of the season and forcing LSU/Florida to play chicken and see who folds. They had leverage over the other schools and didn't use it. Kiffin had leverage in this and he used it.

Lane and LSU both agreed on Lane finishing his season. Lane wants to coach his team. He didn’t want this saga.

Ole Miss was the one putting out an ultimatum forcing his hand.

Lane is in a lose-lose situation optics wise.

You can blame OM, the CFB timelime, sexton etc. But this is not Lane’s fault

Where did that even come from? Johnny Vaught won 190 games at Ole Miss. Lane isn't even close to that number.

The average ole Miss fan likely has no clue who the most winningest coach is.

You would be absolutely wrong based on the guys I know and the fact that his name is on the stadium. Also, the reporter framed it pretty poorly. Kiffen would have a higher winning percentage (.746 vs .745) than Vaught if he won his next two games. He would still have more than 100 fewer wins than Vaughn. (56 vs 190)
