It's still not as good as what Saban would like, apparently

I'm Saban will love Kiffin's Alshon Jeffrey "Come play for us or you'll be pumping gas" patented pitch.

Anyone who thinks they have a better theory for why a coach like Nick Saban would hire a coach like Lane Kiffin to be in charge of his offense is free to explain.

Because Lane Kiffin has experience running a similar offense to Bama's and he is a good recruiter.

Have you ever heard of Occam's Razor?

I have no idea. I would think that Kiffin would realize that being compliant would be in his best interest, but humans are often irrational.

Lane better coach from the box. If he gets out of line, Saban will have Cochran eat him.

What an awful hire. The guy is a total joke. He didn't even run the 2005 USC offense. Sarkisian did. Wow. I would be shocked by this hire.

how do bama fans feel about the rumor that kiffen will accept it?

You guys used to rag on that guy pretty hard. Those feelings long gone?

We are now at war with Eurasia. East Asia is our ally.

The thinking will be somewhere along those lines.

This is so confounding I am not even sure you can apply Occam's Razor. I don't think a simple explanation exists.

I think he's referring to the episode of House where he reference Occam's Razor and figured out a guy had Lyme Disease from a deer tick on his head. He's saying the only way this makes sense is if Saban is going crazy due to complications of suffering from Lyme Disease.

I just think that hating because you know he could beat you at any time as opposed to hating becuase he was a complete bafoon, a born on 3rd type, an unbelievable douche and sleazy is a bit different.

I'm all for standing by your (soon to be) coaches, but I think it's a stretch to compare him to how you felt about saban before he came to bama.

and yes i find this incredibly entertainnig based on what i've heard bama fans say about the man (no i don't remember it being the same for saban) and yes i will be amazingly bitter if his offense takes off and destroys everyone.

Fair enough.

But I'm not going to pretend that cognitive dissonance isn't what keeps me sane and happy when it comes to football.

Sark was the QB coach, Kiffin was the play caller

Yea but you hated Nick Saban for the same reason everyone else does now...because he is really good.

No one, you included, hated Lane Kiffin because he was really good.

Similar to post-Cam in Baltimore, the offense was actually Chow's.

Enjoy burning

Chow in Tennessee in 2005. Offense got better.

Cam at LSU in 2013, Baltimore offense regressed.

Not a good analogy.

Cam fired mid-season - Baltimore wins Super Bowl. OC spends offseason retooling offense, regression.

Chow to Titans, Kiffin to OC, doesn't have enough time to retool, offense progresses due to Cam's playbook and Sark developing QB.
