I love the subtle frame of Layla.
I wonder if we will play some Derek and the Dominoes through the PA system if Lane comes aboard.

Lane Kiffin is expected to be offered the OC position at Alabama within the next hour. Sources close to the action say he will accept today.

I honestly don't understand the move.

I love it. If there is one thing Saban hates its distractions and no matter what happens, he will be one.

If Kiffin comes to Bama as the OC does that me Kirby goes to Vandy as the head coach?

I suppose that Saban was sufficiently impressed/satisfied with Kiffin during his several weeks in Tuscaloosa. This may seem like a head-scratcher, but if this is Saban's top choice, I'm not one to be upset. We will just have to see how the whole ordeal plays out. Honestly, I doubt that much changes - to the chagrin of Kiffin haters and posiGumps alike.

Why one earth would it mean that?

I don't understand the constant mention of needing Kiffin for recruiting purposes. It's said over and over by everyone, including Bama fans.
What, is Alabama having trouble recruiting?

This is almost certain. There were subtle changes from McElwain to Nuss. But nothing big.

I hope Kiffin gets the job.
He will do well at an established program like Bama.
He was given the Shula treatment at USC.
I thought he was on the way to doing well at Tennessee.
His NFL HC coaching experience can only help in recruiting.

It would be exceedingly difficult, as Saban does not allow assistants to speak with the media except once or twice a year. I would also imagine that good conduct and a tight-lipped demeanor is one of the conditions of his employment.

It's still not as good as what Saban would like, apparently.

Saban's on his way out of coaching and into the world of retirement within the next few years. He built LSU into a powerhouse then recommended Houston Nutt be his replacement, probably so LSU would sink back into 1990's-esqe realms after he was gone. He absolutely tore LSU's championship hopes to shreds two years ago today, further solidifying the argument that he's a better coach than his real replacement, Les Miles. LSU is the school he's tried his absolute hardest to beat every single year so he can be seen as being better than the school.
Now that he knows he's nearing retirement, he's worried Bama will continue its success without him. To combat that possibility, he's bringing in Kiffin.
There. That's my very far-fetched, out-there theory. Anyone who thinks they have a better theory for why a coach like Nick Saban would hire a coach like Lane Kiffin to be in charge of his offense is free to explain. We could be here for a while trying to figure this one out...

What are the chances Kiffin promises Saban said conditions then proceeds to break them?
