Kliff Kingsbury to start NFL HC interviews; likely he resigned as USC OC to do so

Kliff Kingsbury is expected to begin interviewing for NFL HC jobs, as @JayGlazer reported, after USC initially blocked him from doing so. Cardinals and Jets wanted to talk to him, and Kingsbury is square in the HC mix.
He has a nice back up plan in NE if McDaniels leaves and he doesn’t get these jobs

I’m hearing Kliff Kingsbury is interviewing with NFL teams, which likely means he has resigned as USC offensive coordinator. USC was blocking him from interviewing foe NFL head coaching openings

I don’t get the hate. Kliff is an elite play caller and offensive mind. Not to mention a QB whisperer. Look at what he did this year with a freshman QB And a third-string backup

Average 37 points a game. Issue was not the offense, it was the lack of defensive talent.

so Offense can’t win in the NFL?
Can't offense win in the Big 12? Yet he couldn't.

You don’t have many good seasons giving up 31 points a game. I think the NFL will be interested in who he wants for a DC and how much autonomy he will give that DC. Pair his offense with a good DC and it would bena tough team, same as New Orleans and Los Angeles.

I'll applaud a team that takes a flyer in this direction... Give him the HC position with management desecration on DC and player personnel.. Tell him to be the cool coach (McVay) and light up the scoreboard.
People always bitch about the retreads, rightfully so, but to break out of that you have to take risks.

I member when all the SEC fans told me the spread was a gimmick offense.

The difference is the spread was a successful system then brought to the SEC. Kingsbury would be unsuccessful then stepping up in weight class.
If they're smart the interviews now would be feeling him out for the future and wait for him to actually prove something before actually considering him for HC.

Well, your trolling is flawed
You are comparing apples to grapefruits. In college, HCs are more like GMs having to recruit and player management/evaluation. Kliff can coach in the league and have the front office worry about the rest.
He got the best out of his players, mainly on offense, at a mid-tier Big 12 school. The defense wasn’t terrible this year and likely would have been a 7-8 win season at least without QB injuries.
Alas, to my point, the hate is based off wildly inaccurate opinions/misinformation

Saying a coach fired from Texas Tech and with no NFL experience isn't ready to be a NFL head coach is trolling

As opposed to thinking play calling and working with QBs is the only thing that goes into being a NFL head coach.

Isn't that part of the job of a head coach?

Nope. Only coach in the country who couldn't do anything about that. Also couldn't fire the crappy DC he kept for 4 years.
