And every LSU fan has a guy on the inside. Or at least want you to think so. Can't help themselves.

Unlikely, considering his contract was up.

You can't choose to believe him on "I was going back", but not believe him in rest just bc it fits your narrative.

I'm so glad he didn't come here. This guy is a complete tool and it was only Saban that kept him in check.
On this, we are in total agreement. I still don't know what to make of O, but willing to give him a shot. Kiffin on the other hand, I did not want.

Do you expect him to say nah man I was totally going to LSU if I didn't get a head coaching job?
God you people are miserable.

There is no end of scenarios here. Kiffin lied to O all along. He was intrigued, but changed his mind. Saban changed it for him. He was going to be a head coach no matter what. He would have gone back to Bama. He would have left for somewhere else. Whatever. No one will ever get the full story here, so it's irrelevant.
The overriding fact over all of them is this- Saban would be a much more powerful enemy than O could ever be an ally when it comes to Kiffin's future. No matter what he may have wanted to do, he was going to do what Saban told him to. I think that's the only clear truth here.

Of course that's what he had to say.
No way he was going back to Bama. And no one (except the whiners here) thinks he was.

It's easy to say this now
Although I do agree with it

Saban has him by the nuts, he is going to laud Bama no matter what.

Kiffin is obviously lying.
I don't believe that for a second. He already lied to Nick Saban about the possiblity of relocating to LSU, and now since he took the job at FAU, it would be literally insane for him to tell the truth now. Why unnecessarily burn a bridge when you don't have to? That would be very stupid. Not to mention, that Lane has far more baggage than he needs already. Hence, he would have kept quiet until it was clear he wasn't going to get a head coaching job, at which time he would have informed Saban that he had found another job at LSU for more money.

Go fly a kite, as you obviously don't have a clue.

According to Scott Rabalais on sports today, LSU admins had received some type of communication from Kiffin or his "people" that he was coming to help O.

He (Jimmy Freshwater) sure did tell that lie. Hell, there are people out there trying to say some secret thing happened why he(kiffin) left. (Rumors)

1. O never said publicly that Kiffin was coming here.
2. Of course, Kiffin says that. Geez...

The most likely scenario is where LSU and Bama both knew, as did Orgeron, that Kiffin was destined for an NCAA HC position, or a place on an NFL staff. He had absolutely gone as far as he could as an NCAA OC and needed to advance along his career path to the next "level".
He was always a cover for LSU's actual search and never coming to Baton Rouge to be our OC; we were always leverage for him with other prospective employers and never a possible destination for him; he was never "going back" to Bama.
I just dont think that it is reasonable to believe that anyone at the table went into this with their eyes closed. Regardless, he owes Nick Saban too much to say anything other than he was "going back". He will certainly need Coach Saban's warmest possible endorsement again, before it's all over.
