LSU looks like losers again. I am so sick of what we have become. Embarrassing.
You think it's bad now, wait and see what happens if the Canada things falls apart.

Get this guy signed and move forward. Quit fricking around!.................

Reading is fundamental. I never said that I did. Go back and read ALL of what I wrote. Kiffin lying to O was just one scenario that I listed there. It is possible, just like him initially being interested and then changing his mind, or Saban threatening him or whatever. My point was that we likely will never know what really happened. And it's done now, so it really doesn't matter, anyway.

What we do know is that Saban had more power over the situation than O did. I don't mean that as a knock on O, either. It's just the truth of the matter. Saban would have leverage over any other coach not named Urban right now. He's earned it.

Kiffin would have had the Houston job except they wanted a polygraph.

At what point does Orgeron pack only pants and underwear, fly to Boca Raton and body slam Lame Kiffin?

There is no end of scenarios here. Kiffin lied to O all along. He was intrigued, but changed his mind. Saban changed it for him. He was going to be a head coach no matter what. He would have gone back to Bama. He would have left for somewhere else. Whatever. No one will ever get the full story here, so it's irrelevant.

The overriding fact over all of them is this- Saban would be a much more powerful enemy than O could ever be an ally when it comes to Kiffin's future. No matter what he may have wanted to do, he was going to do what Saban told him to. I think that's the only clear truth here.

Bingo. The Kiffin, Saban relationship wasn't perfect. Lots relationships aren't. But it was mutually beneficial. Kiffin had gotten three big HC gigs he was not experienced or mature enough to handle. As a result, his career became a dumpster fire.

I think it's reasonable to assume Lane was looking to Saban for advice and as his much needed reference in getting a HC job. I doubt Kiffin is foolish enough to frick everything all up just to make a lateral move to LSU. He had nothing to gain by it.

If he hadn't gotten a HC gig, I think he would've gotten a one-year extension at Bama.

LSU will be better off with Canada than Kiffin anyway. There are other knowledgeable talented OCs that could've done as well as Kiffin did at Bama. I think Canada could have. He's a very good hire for LSU!
