Dir of Recruiting is not a coaching job...BK had some girl do it and then Justin Vincent...its pretty much a pr gig to the recruits once they get on campus!

Handles scheduling, events, etx

Can we hold on to Frank somehow?

i would hope so. even if he is acting like a brat behind the scenes, he is invaluable as a Louisiana wall builder. we've seen this play out in year 1-2 of BK where there wasn't an importance placed on proven wall builders in the state. it didn't play out well. what's the goal with this new admin? recruit mississippi?

I think it's possible he may have told them to wait and sign, but I don't think it was done selfishly. Could all be a misunderstanding. You know how people around here are.

Maybe, or maybe not. We'll find out soon enough, I suppose.

Or, maybe he doesn't have the sway that he thought he did. The stuff about Frank is coming from pretty reliable sources, and several of them are saying the same thing. At this point, it's more likely to be true.

How does that work exactly…did he tell someone he said this? One of the recruits told the source this?

It’s not even that I don’t believe it to be true, I just can’t really trust third or fourth hand information.

“Director of Recruiting” is no where associated with Frank Wilson. This person schedules visits, tours the players on game day, etc.

I trust CLKs decisions when it comes to offense. The data proves kiffins staff is better than LSU’s. A couple of kids out of New Orleans is not going to make or break the Tigers…..TRANSFER PORTAL makes up the difference.

Cmon man. When did this idolatry start and how do some of you believe it. Stop believing what somebody else repeated years ago. Kids from N.O. go to LSU because they want to and for many different reasons. And they also go to other schools. He’s not some pious pied piper in a field of evil devilish miscreants to be worshipped upon an alter.

Maybe it’s time to move on from FW. I know he’s been a Tiger since… the 90’s it seems like, but at some point the team has to go in another direction, especially as a position coach.
As a recruiter? No one else in the state has his pull in the NO area? Really?

Ahhhhh.... There goes Frank's role. This all points to one thing. Frank is being shown the door. Man I wish Frank stayed. He is viewed as a family guy and all these young recruits in the NOLA area come to LSU for him if I am not mistaken.

For this to be a championship caliber program year in/out LSU needs to pull these guys for reasons other than a singular position coach that doesn’t even coach their position. That’s a house of cards.

Recruits didn't need to be told CFW future up n the Air. I doubt he would tell them not to sign. He probably told them the truth that he didn't know if he would be at LSU next season

Goal is obvious. Hit the portal hard and pay lots of money to get the best available players that can contribute immediately. Less emphasis on high school kids. I don’t like it but that’s the best approach and the reality of cfb now.

If he told them to wait, it was a selfish move. It would imply that he is in control of the recruits and if he doesn't get his way, he can influence those players to other places. If that happens, then I hope Frank is jettisoned with quickness.

Just from knowing how certain demographics are in Louisiana, there is likely some sort of block of high school HCs that have their hands out and they like Frank and are willing to support him and also hold their players hostage if it means he keeps his job. I'm sure they have agreements in place with him and a shakeup means they're playing hardball with the new staff. Seems like we see this everytime there's a HC change. Remember when we had to go get Juluke?
